I've been observing lately how much Zulu reminds me of her dam, Sky, as a young mare. Last night I finally got some photos to show the comparison between the two. Also, fun fact, Zulu tore off the majority of her lower right eyelid recently. It's incredible how much eye injuries can heal when addressed quickly and thoroughly during the healing process. Sick day for me= I can’t make decisions so I’m just going to photo dump here. This was Tado’s first time in round corral (high walls and isolated) and he was a champ. I didn’t push him for action shots since I wanted it to be a nonchalant experience. Similar to the first time trailer loading, my goal was to leave on a good note so he’d be confident about the second time where we’d do more in the trailer. It was the leaves specifically that made me want to take the target of opportunity and double dip on something fun and productive. Enjoy ✨. I keep scrolling through the photos myself on repeat.

Zuri is a rare gem and one more reason why I love the Kiger breed. She is very kind and exudes a gentle nature that horse a human love. I’ve ridden her probably less than 2 hours total when I started her, but she was so easy about it and naturally wants to take care of the rider. I haven’t ridden her in over 4 years (just checked), other than a couple weeks ago a snuck a test ride from the mounting block to arena gate. She lined up to mounting block like she remembered her lessons from all those years ago.

Last night, I just got on from the paddock gate and rode to where I turn her out for the night. It’s the route I usually do when leading her from side by side. She had no bad thoughts, just checked in initially like a patient horse when pasture buddy is stuck up there from playing and tried to let me work it out, only to then realize I wanted to ride her lol.

W12 Conquistador ✨, aka Tado, photos taken about a month ago. Definitely a head turning yearling c**t with a bold personality. He’s a sweetheart too that loves to meet me at the gate to go on walkabouts on the ranch. He is a big boy and looking for ideal home for him that will keep him a breeding stallion. He just might be Brioso’s nicest c**t for the usual boxes people like to check off. Very photogenic and made my life easy getting fun photos of him. Loves to follow red satin sheet when I drag it behind me just like his older siblings. His full brother is going nicely under saddle and hitting high footraffic trails in his NJ home. Tado is available to approved home. My mom loves him too but I can’t keep them all 💁‍♀️. Until then, he’ll be hanging out with his pasture buddies through winter and have a well socialized life with walkabout outings with me so he continues to see variety.

Armonia (out of Zuri)is showing her 'little' brother Baron the ropes on his first mountain trip. Both horses are by Brioso Canyon. Armonia was born and raised here before heading to Big Sky Kigers and Baron was concieved here.

Baron is a big red dun three year old Kiger who is on his first mountain trip as a pack horse. He paused to look at the waterfall before crossing, though after a moment's hesitation he crossed like a pro.

Better late to post than never! Just ran across these videos taken in March of this year that I had intended to post of Tado. He’s even more gorgeous now and I probably should get updated video before he fluffs out for winter 😂. He is available to approved home ✨. More videos in comments
