PROTECT YOUR PET. PROTECT YOUR FAMILY.
Rabies Vaccination Saves Lives

In North Carolina, rabies is a serious and often fatal disease that affects pets, wildlife, and humans. The good news? It’s completely preventable with a simple vaccine.

Why Rabies Vaccination Matters

* Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms appear
* It spreads through bites or contact with infected animals like raccoons, foxes, bats, skunks, and coyotes
* Vaccinating your pet helps stop the spread and keeps your household safe

North Carolina Law

* Rabies vaccinations are required by law for dogs, cats, and ferrets
* Keeping your pet up to date isn’t just smart—it’s your responsibility

What Happens If Your Pet Is Exposed?
If your unvaccinated pet comes into contact with a rabies carrier:

* They may be required to be euthanized, OR
* Placed in strict quarantine at a facility for 4–6 months (at your expense)

If your pet is vaccinated and exposed:

* They typically only need a rabies booster as soon as possible
* Short-term observation at home may be required

This can be heartbreaking—and completely avoidable.

Protect Your Pet Today

* Schedule a rabies vaccination with your veterinarian
* Keep records of your pet’s vaccinations
* Avoid letting pets roam unsupervised outdoors

Don’t Wait Until It’s Too Late
A simple shot can prevent tragedy. Protect your pet, your family, and your community.

For more information, contact your local veterinarian or county animal control.

A puppy should not grow up in a shelter… 💔

JJ is a 9-month-old boxer mix who has already spent almost 3 months waiting for someone to choose him. While other puppies are learning what it feels like to have a family, JJ has been watching kennel doors open and close, hoping his turn will come soon.

JJ is incredibly sweet, loves kids, and does great with other dogs. He has the perfect mix of playful puppy energy and loving companionship, making him an amazing running, hiking, or adventure partner. Whether it’s exploring trails or cuddling after a long day, he’s ready to be right by your side.

He is:✔️ Neutered✔️ Heartworm negative✔️ Up to date on vaccines✔️ Microchipped

All JJ is missing is a family to love him forever. Please help us make sure this puppy doesn’t spend any more of his young life growing up in a shelter kennel. ❤️
