We’re excited to announce important updates at Woodland Animal Hospital, designed to enhance the care and convenience we offer for you and your beloved pets. We have moved to focus exclusively on wellness and urgent care services with updated hours to better serve you. Our new hours are:
Monday – Friday: 8 am to midnight, final patient intake one hour before close. Saturday – Sunday: 10 am to midnight, final patient intake one hour before close. What This Means for You:
• Enhanced Care: By shifting our focus to wellness and urgent care, we are committed to providing consistent, high-quality treatment.
• Personalized Attention: With this change, our team will have more dedicated time to build lasting relationships with you and your pets, ensuring every visit receives the personal care and attention it deserves.
• New Weekend Availability: We are pleased to offer Saturday wellness and non-urgent sick appointments for the first time, providing greater flexibility and convenience for clients with busy weekday schedules.

• Transparent Pricing: We believe in clear communication about our appointments and service fees. In line with this, we’re introducing a $49 appointment fee for routine visits and a $125 fee for emergency, urgent care, and walk-ins, providing the best possible care at affordable prices.*

🦷 Tooth be told, your pet’s dental health deserves some love, too! 🐾

Just like us, our pets need regular dental care to help keep their teeth and gums healthy.
The good news? There are several ways to support those pearly whites at home and at the vet!

🪥 Brush their teeth.
Use a toothbrush and toothpaste specifically made for pets. Start slowly with just a few teeth at a time, then gradually work up to a full brushing as your pet gets comfortable.

🦴 Choose dental treats.
Look for products accepted by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC), which evaluates products for their effectiveness in reducing plaque or tartar.

🐶 Pick the right dental chews.
Dental chews aren't all equally effective. Look for VOHC-accepted options that are appropriate for your pet.

🩺 Schedule professional dental cleanings.
Regular veterinary dental exams help identify problems that may not be visible at home. Professional cleanings allow your veterinary team to assess your pet’s oral health and address dental concerns.

🐾 Be prepared for life’s little pet emergencies! 💙

From unexpected mishaps to minor scrapes, having a pet first aid kit at home can help you provide temporary care until your pet can be seen by a veterinarian. Even minor wounds or concerns deserve veterinary attention, so check with your vet rather than relying on home treatment alone.

You can assemble your own kit or purchase a premade one. Remember to check it every six months, replace expired products, and restock anything you’ve used!

🐶 A note about muzzles: An injured or frightened dog may bite out of fear or pain, even if they’re normally gentle. A properly fitted basket muzzle may help keep everyone safe during handling, but never muzzle a pet who is vomiting, having trouble breathing, or has certain facial injuries. Never force a muzzle onto a distressed pet.

🚨 When in doubt, contact a veterinary professional. If your pet may have been exposed to a toxin or is experiencing an emergency, contact your veterinarian or the nearest emergency veterinary hospital immediately.

🐾 Everybody say hello to Gigi! 🐾

Just look at that sweet face! 🥹 Gigi had her dental day with us, and we couldn’t resist sharing a little behind-the-scenes peek at her visit!

While she was busy being adorable, our team was hard at work caring for her smile! From dental X-rays to careful monitoring throughout her procedure, every step helps us get a better picture of her oral health and keep her comfortable.

And that little face at the end? We think she deserves all the extra snuggles. 💜
