When does swimming season go away?! When the warm weather does! August sure feels like the Sunday of summer, so don’t hesitate to book your swimming trail ride 🤿
Swim trail rides can be on our mounts or you can BYOH. 1.5 hr ride, $80 on ours and $40 BYOH per horse/rider combo. Riders on our horses must be comfortable ba****ck at the walk & trot. BYOH riders can tack and ride however they want to. Helmets and waivers required. Coggins required for BYOH.

We also offer lessons and traditional, beginner friendly trail rides year round.

We are located in Spotsylvania, VA. Wilderness Run Vineyards and 1781 Brewing Co are on site, with live music and food trucks on the weekends. Open 7 days a week.

The end of a GREAT camp week with some of our advanced students.

Our schedule was:
-Monday we took a field trip over to our friends at Red Crest for a trail ride.
-Tuesday the girls went for an upbeat trail ride at home, followed by taking the horses for a swim.
-Wednesday we attended Bushy Mtn Obstacle Course- everybody got to work through things, so good for both horse and rider!
-Thursday we did a mock hunter pace at home and went to Champion Saddlery’s Tent Sale.
-Friday we went XC schooling at Win Green, went home and worked the cows through the shoot to fly spray them & cleaned up the barn after a long week of being busy.

I’m SO grateful for these kiddos and their efforts this week. Always extra grateful for our herd that just seems to go with the flow. Can’t wait for next year already!

Our herd stays BUSY throughout the summer months- lessons, trail rides, swimming, field trips, jumper shows, camp, moving cattle.. you name it, they do it! Keeping our crew comfortable and feeling their best is our #1 priority. Routine vet, farrier, chiro & now BEMER have them feeling their best no matter what their job is for the day. We recently learned about all of the benefits to BEMER sessions on the horses- it’s crazy how much it actually does for them!
I HIGHLY recommend reaching out to Jaclyn Curtis-Chapman (feel free to PM us for her number!) and see if BEMER is something that can benefit your horse. She will travel to your barn in counties surrounding Culpeper, VA. We have used BEMER for swelling, soreness, post hard ride rehabs & it has made such a difference!

SWIMMING SEASON IS HERE!! 🌊🌊🌊
We are accepting bookings for swimming trail rides for the rest of the summer. Swimming rides start NOW and run through mid fall! Our horses LOVE to swim, but we also welcome you to BYOH!

A few notes for frequently asked questions:
•*****Swimming trail rides ON OUR HORSES are offered only to experienced riders that are comfortable riding ba****ck at the walk and trot. You’re welcome to ride your own horse with their tack on, but OURS are ba****ck only.*****
•The whole body of water is fenced in & there is no tide.
•Helmets are required the whole time while mounted
•Swimming trail rides for our intermediate/advanced riders are longer than our traditional, beginner friendly trail rides. They are 1 hour and 30 minutes long. Typically we trail ride first and end with a swim, but the time can be divided however your group would like.
•The ride time can be extended for an extra fee per horse/rider
•Current, negative coggins are required for BYOH
•All rides are guided

Pricing:
•On our horses- $80 per rider
•BYOH- $40 per horse

Let’s hit the trails! We’ve been staying busy riding our trails at home, but also loading our lesson students & horses in a trailer to go riding at Lake Anna State Park. Everyone always enjoys a field trip!
Trail rides at home are beginner friendly, $60 per person for an hour long ride. Groups are private or semi-private based on the number of guests on the ride. PM the page to book your ride.

Today’s hunter pace with Deep Run Hunt was one for the books! Exceptional course, hospitality, and company. The icing on the cake was finding out that team 1 won the hunter division and team 2 won the hacker division. Our crew had the best time & absolutely loved every bit of it!
