🌸🐾 March is Pet Poison Prevention Month! 🐾🌸

As the weather warms up and flowers start to bloom, it’s important to remember that some common spring plants can be toxic to pets. Many popular flowers can cause illness if chewed or eaten.

Tips to help protect your pets:
🌿 Know before you plant: Research plants before adding them to your home or garden.
🏡 Choose pet-safe plants: Opt for non-toxic varieties whenever possible.
🚫 Keep risky plants out of reach: Place them in areas pets cannot access.
🧹 Clean up fallen leaves and bulbs: Many toxins are found in the bulbs or stems.
👀 Supervise outdoor time: Especially when visiting parks, neighbors’ yards, or new environments.
🛍 Check floral arrangements: Bouquets and holiday plants may contain toxic varieties.

🐾 Update on the Recent Rabies Vaccine Recall

You may have seen reports about a Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) rabies vaccine recall. We want to reassure our Countryside Veterinary Clinic community that we have already identified and attempted to directly contact every patient who received a vaccine from the recalled lot. As of end of day today, we have reached out to all of our clients with affected patients.

If you have not heard from us, your pet was not affected and is fully protected. No further action is needed.

If you have heard from us and have not followed up; we ask that you do. We want to be sure that your pet is adequately vaccinated.

We understand that recalls can be concerning. Please know that we monitor manufacturer alerts closely and act immediately when notified. The moment we received information about the affected lot; our team reviewed all inventory and medical records to ensure prompt communication with impacted clients.

Your pet’s health and safety will always be our top priority. If you have any questions or would like additional reassurance, our team is here and happy to help. 💙
