Mr. Jack Brown himself.
The inspiration behind the shop name. The dog who taught me to never give up. Even when all the odds are against you and there’s no end in sight.
I’ve talked about this a little bit before but Jack had a temporary paralysis called Coonhound Paralysis. This happened shortly after my mom had passed away in 2016.
There is no cure. You just have to provide nursing care and keep them strong if possible - through swim therapy. After 8 months of his temporary paralysis it wore off almost to the day like nothing ever happened. He kept me grounded (literally) during a time when all I wanted to do was run very far away.
I always thought once he was well I would shout from the rooftops about how we made it through that. If you knew Jack and I during that time you saw how taxing it all was. And honestly I’m not totally sure how I survived it.
This is the heart of what I do. This is my why. I was fortunate to have the help of many amazing people in my life who saw the finish line and encouraged me to keep going to get Jack walking again.
Remembering those moments keeps me going. On good days and bad. Mr. Brown was a legend. Who will forever live in the hearts of everyone who knew him, and loved him.
My favorite memory was being called by the front desk that he was in the swimming pool with guests. At the time he was living with his Dad who did maintenance for a hotel in the mountain town we lived in.
If you knew Mr. Brown share a memory below. We miss him everyday. 🤎🤎🤎
