🚨 URGENT: FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED — DOMESTIC BUNNY 🐰

This sweet domesticated bunny was found abandoned in a local park in Wayne County and is now safe with Wayne County sheriff department mounted unit overnight.

Pick up is available at your convenience.

Unfortunately, he has a serious eye issue that needs veterinary attention. A veterinarian has already been contacted, and we are currently waiting for the office to open so he can receive proper care.

❤️ WE NEED HELP ASAP!

We are looking for an experienced rabbit owner who may be willing to foster or adopt him, with assistance available. He needs someone familiar with bunny care who can provide him with a safe, comfortable place while we get his medical needs addressed.

If you can help—or know an experienced bunny person who can—please reach out as soon as possible.

🎒🐾 BACK TO SCHOOL IS A CHANGE FOR YOUR DOG, TOO! 🐾🎒

The backpacks are packed, the alarms are set, and the kids are heading back to school! 📚✏️ But while we’re getting used to a new routine, our furry family members are adjusting too. ❤️

After a summer full of extra attention, playtime, and having their favorite people home, suddenly being alone for hours can be a BIG change for your pup.

🐶 Start adjusting their routine now
🐾 Practice short periods of alone time
🎾 Get some energy out before everyone leaves
🧩 Leave safe toys or enrichment activities
❤️ Keep goodbyes and homecomings calm
🚶 Make time for walks, play, and cuddles after school

Keep an eye out for changes like excessive barking, destructive behavior, accidents, pacing, panting, drooling, escape attempts, or extreme distress when everyone prepares to leave.

Separation anxiety is real — your dog isn’t simply “being bad.” If their behavior becomes severe or continues, talk with your veterinarian.

A little preparation can make the back-to-school transition much easier for everyone — including the four-legged family members waiting at home. 🐕❤️

August 15th, all pet owners, regardless of income, can receive our Wellness Package far below the regular price! Our $165 Wellness Package is DISCOUNTED to $95.00 and includes Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, Lepto PLUS a Heartworm test to help you stay proactive and keep your dog up-to-date on their his/her vaccines!

After careful consideration, we’ve decided to share some upsetting news with our community - Tail Waggers was the target of a donation scam.

We had e-mail communication from an individual identifying himself as David Buchnan from Grosse Point Farms. He and his wife were making contributions to various animal rescue organizations and he chose us.

His offer was to donate $2,000 and we talked about using the funds towards purchasing vaccines for our upcoming community clinics.

On July 15, the check arrived. To our surprise, it was written for $4,000 instead of the promised $2,000. We immediately emailed him to let him know we had received it, thanked him for his generosity, and pointed out that the check was double the amount he had originally intended to donate.

Trusting that the donation was legitimate, we used the funds exactly as promised. On July 17, we purchased vaccines for our August community clinics.

Later that same evening, he replied to our email stating an error was made and that the extra $2,000 had been earmarked for another non-profit organization. The red-flag went up when he asked if we could return the $2000.

Before taking any action, we contacted the bank the check was drawn on. To our shock, we were informed that this was a known scam and that Tail Waggers was approximately the 50th nonprofit they had seen receive one of these fraudulent checks.

The bank advised us that the check had been drawn fraudulently from a victim’s account, and that the full $4,000 would soon be removed from our account.

The vaccines have already been purchased and are intended for our August community clinics, and the fraudulent check has already been reversed.

This unexpected loss puts us in a financial deficit.

If you are able to help, any donation no matter how small will go directly toward replacing the funds lost to this scam so we can continue our August clinics without interruption.

We also wanted to share our experience to warn other nonprofits: please verify unexpected donations before spending the funds, especially if the donor later requests that money be sent back. These scams are very real, and unfortunately, organizations dedicated to helping others are often the targets.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Tail Waggers. Your kindness and generosity are what allow us to keep helping people help animals, even during difficult moments.
