Attention Megan’s Clients – Please Read

I want to take a moment to be completely transparent with you all.

Starting May 1st, I will be increasing the cost of most grooming services by $20. Nail trims will remain the same. This decision wasn’t made lightly — in fact, it’s a little scary for me. I’ve always tried to keep my prices as low as possible because I truly value each of you and the trust you place in me with your pets.

But as many of you know, I’m working closely with a local rescue, pursuing continuing education, and focusing more on dog behavior and training. These changes are part of a bigger goal to grow as a professional while also taking better care of myself.

I can no longer continue working 12–13 hour days in the salon. In order to stay healthy, sustainable, and still give every dog my full attention, I need to adjust my schedule — and my pricing — to reflect that.

If this change feels like too much for you or your household, I completely understand. I’d be happy to refer you to another wonderful groomer like Lauren or one of my trusted colleagues.

Thank you for supporting me on this journey, for allowing me to grow, and for being such an important part of my life and career. I truly appreciate you.

With love and gratitude,
Megan

Etta is showing off a few of the tools we use to help keep our grooming dogs safe and (as much as possible) stress-free!

The grooming hammock is a tool we only use when absolutely necessary—usually for dogs who might try to leap off the table or become unsafe to handle. If a dog is too stressed or flailing, we don’t use it.

The Trach Saver is one of my favorite tools, especially for senior pets, cats, and brachycephalic breeds (like pugs and bulldogs). It gently supports them under the shoulders instead of putting pressure on their neck, which is so helpful for those with sensitivities.

And of course, we all love Happy Hoodies! These soft wraps help muffle the loud dryer noise and give a comforting, gentle pressure around the head to lower anxiety.

These are just a few of the tools and techniques we use to make grooming safer and more comfortable for our furry clients.

2020, the year it all happened

My name is Megan and I have five dogs, my youngest is a 14 week old puppy!

I’ve been in the animal industry for over seven years. The first dog I adopted, Charlie, needed to be groomed so often that I just decided to teach myself. Throughout the years, I’ve picked up grooming skills as well as veterinary medicine skills and education, management experience and almost perfected my customer service.

Like most people, COVID changed my life in ways that I wasn’t expecting. Opening my own business was a difficult decision because I had to walk away from some important things. But I am so glad I did. With the support of many friends, within a week I was up and running a grooming business. This is what I’ve been working towards for seven years and I made it!

There are so many perks with being the only “employee” and also not having much overhead expenses. I only work on one dog (or family) at a time, allowing for much needed attention and patience. Working inside of a dog daycare can be loud sometimes, but if we need a quiet setting, I make special appointments when the daycare is closed. The most important is your pup feeling comfortable, loved and safe. I’ve even been caught singing to a rescue dog in order to sooth his anxieties.
