This beautiful boy was bred by the Downs family at SD Farms of UK and comes from outstanding breeding stock. His sire is SD Gambler and dam is SD Blueberry Pie. Blue’s bloodlines including SD Wooly Mammoth of North Fork, Bob The Blagdon, The old Horse of Wales, SD Black Jack. He is pssm1 and FIS neg/neg.
Silky feather, deep chest, well muscled and standing stout 14 hands , Tt , Rn/rn , Ee TO/to.
He loves a job and has beautiful movement and reach under saddle, he is kind and truly loves to please people.
We expect great things from him in 2025

This year wanted to try something different so I bought a pair of hand shears and thought I would give it a try -this is my first time using them but definitely better for me and the sheep my arm, back and wrist not killing me and although I need to hone my skills to get closer clip I found them very easy to use and less stressful for me -I do need to get Joseph a stool to sit while he holds them 😂 , clipped , feet trimmed and ready for summer

ISO honest hard working individual to work at our small Gypsy Vanner farm MUST have experience with young horses-leading, longing and routine care of horses; duties MAY include cleaning paddocks & stalls (priority), feeding, clean tack, deep clean barn with dusting and trimming around electric fence, water tubs/buckets, grooming to include bathing , braiding (lots of braiding), hoof care; hold for vet or farrier, need someone with good common sense to recognize a change in behavior or habits, ability to drive small John Deere tractor or learn and lift 50lb bags grain or hay ** want responsible person that can come 3-4 days wk, 2-3 hrs; some flexibility in days and times but expect you to show up and commit to a schedule set up in advance .. I just dont have time to chase people or remind them of their schedule; i can provide you orientation on weekend and be available for ? this is great opportunity for young adult or adult that would love to learn about Gypsy horses and may offer opportunities to participate in shows or exhibition’s -PM to discuss

Just some pics of my weaned ewe Summer -weaned herself off mama, not nearly 2 mo old and growing strong and fast I see her becoming the alpha female shortly -this was an unplanned pregnancy and actually glad it happened her dam is one of the first ewes born in this farm from outstanding stock purchased from Jager Farm (now retired) I see her strength and hardiness to lead my future

Rams are getting big and fluffy some nice fleeces to be had this year and of course my main man likes to get his snuggle -he’s the only ram I cautiously will scratch and pat -he’s the friendliest I’ve ever had

This young lady is getting her saddle time with Cleo- our beautiful Gypsy mare under guidance of Sophia Palmer and as you can tell they have fun taking advantage of the mild temps this month …. Cleo takes care of her charges but doesn’t let them off easy - Gypsy Horses truly are the best !

I sure am going to miss my Sam Hovasse she is such kind person comes home after long day treating animals and offers to help vaccinate, deworm, trim and shear sheep ; so kind she is going to be (is) a great veterinarian , always willing to help be collect stallions, feed or wrangle sheep I will miss our “shenanigans”
