Hello all!!
I am watching the air quality in the area due to the smoke from the Canada wildfires. Bad air quality is bad for the horses.
AQI 0-50: Good air quality, no restrictions on exercise.
AQI 51-100: Moderate, limit activity for horses with respiratory issues.
AQI 101-150: Unhealthy for sensitive horses, avoid intense exercise.
AQI 151-200: Unhealthy for all horses, limit activity to slow walking, cancel events.
AQI 201-300: Very unhealthy, keep horses indoors with filtered air, consider nebulizer treatments.
AQI 301-500: Hazardous, horses should remain indoors with filtered air, relocation may be necessary if AQI remains high for multiple days.
Poor air quality along with high temperatures will mean no riding. We will see how the week plays out. Stay tuned!!
