As we wrap up Vet Tech Week, we end our Meet & Greets with the one, the only, everyone's favorite human, JANE!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are not too many people that need an introduction to Jane. Miss Jane aka Dr. Jane has been in the Vet Med world since July 19, 1982 & has wanted to go into this career since she was in grade school. Around here we joke that she came with the building.

As a giant cat lover, Jane has 11 of her own & is always helping others with their kitties. Her oldest cat is Nettie, who is an amazing 19 years old! When not buzzing around Animal Haven & reheating her coffee all day, Jane enjoys being out in nature, going to the movies, traveling & being out with her friends. The most rewarding part of her job is educating clients, helping to make animals feel better. “I love to get the sick animal eating again!”

We ALL have so much to learn from our “Dr. Jane.” She is a wealth of information, the sweetest lady you have ever met & a total fan favorite. We love each & every one of our employees, but Miss Janey holds a special place in all our hearts.

Q: If a kid tells you they want to be a Vet Tech, what advice would you give them?
A: Try & spend time at a vet clinic shadowing what goes on. Also talk to the people that work in the profession. Keep up & maintain good grades in school.

Good morning & lets introduce everyone to our 2 newest Vet Techs, Meagan & Sabrina! Our inmate Sabrina has evaded the warden so far this week for her mugshot, so the correctional officer had to get a little creative...

Meet Meagan, our newest Vet Tech! She has been in Vet Med for 14 years but has only been with us since the 3rd of this month. According to her Mom, Meagan knew she wanted to go into Vet Med since she started to walk/talk. And now the most rewarding part of her job is helping owners & pets to be happy & healthy.
When not at Animal Haven, Meagan can be found coloring, embroidery, spending time with her wife and kiddos & working on projects with her kids on their hobby farm. And what a fun hobby farm she has! It consists of 3 horses, 2 goats, 6 geese, 15 ducks, 6 dogs, lots of cats & a partridge in a pear tree…actually it’s a 15-year-old Quaker Parrot named Zazu. Her favorite animal is an elephant, but she hasn’t added one of those to her farm … yet.
Q: If a kid tells you they want to be a Vet Tech, what advice would you give them?
A: Never lose your passion. Do it for the animals.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Our 2nd newest Tech is Sabrina, who has been with us for about a month. She has been in Vet Med for 13 years. The most rewarding part of her job is helping animals & seeing how happy it makes their owners.
When Sabrina is not here at Animal Haven or at school, she enjoys watching Anime, reading, crochet, knitting & spending time with her boyfriend. Along with the boyfriend, she loves hanging out with her 2 cats: Marshmallow, 11 years old (who is NOT a floofy white kitty, but a large & in charge black cat) & Lilo, 5 years old. She is waiting for the day that she can add many more furry creatures to her brood, but probably not her favorite animal, which is a black panther. She loves all big cats, but likely won’t be adding one to her future farm.
Q: If a kid tells you they want to be a Vet Tech, what advice would you give them?
A: Don’t go into Vet Med for money, but for the love of animals & helping them.

Welcome to the team ladies, we're lucky to have you!

Today the spotlight is shining brightly on Mikaela!

Since Mikaela was a little kid, she always had wanted to work in Vet Med, her favorite animals being horses & dogs. She has been in this industry for a year & a half. She joined us at Animal Haven on February 3rd of this year.
Mikaela has 3 squatty little dogs: Scooby, a 12-year-old Dachshund, Ziggi, her 5-year-old Dachshund & last but very much not least, Millo, the 3-year-old Chiweenie. When not spending her days here at Animal Haven, she enjoys spending time with her family & traveling. She has been to 34 states & 8 countries so far!
The most rewarding part of her job is getting to help save animals & playing with puppies. I mean, who doesn’t love playing with puppies!?
Q: If a kid tells you they want to be a Vet Tech, what advice would you give them?
A: It’s a lot of hard work, but it’s SO worth it!

We're kicking off our Vet Tech Week Meet & Greets by shining the spotlight on Kayla today!

Meet our 2nd longest inmate at Animal Haven, Kayla. She has been in the Veterinary Medicine business for 19 years, starting as Animal Care. She’s been a Certified Veterinary Technician for 16 of those years.
Kayla is the proud Mama of 3 human kiddos & 4 furbabies. Hank is her 2 year old Golden Retriever & she has 3 cats: Asher, 9 years old, Smokey, 3 years old & Daisy, 2 years old. Kayla loves spending time with her family camping or out at the lake or running to sports.
When asked what the most rewarding part of her job is, she said, “Being able to help all stages of dogs & cats from start of life to old age.”
Q: If a kid tells you they want to be a Vet Tech, what advice would you give them?
A: When they are at a good age, to come shadow at a vet clinic for the day or week & see what they think.

Thank you Kayla for your years of dedication! We are so grateful for you!

HAPPY VET TECH WEEK!!!

Our Story

Greetings Pet Lovers!

My name is Dr. Amanda Craft and I am the proud new owner of Animal Haven which is located at what was previously known as Minnesota Veterinarian Associates of Little Falls.

I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself so you have my background when you bring your pets to me for their care.

I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was raised on a small cattle ranch called Pine Springs Ranch. This is where I connected with my true passion in life, compassionate care for animals. My Dad wholeheartedly encouraged my passion, and I learned that it was possible to turn my love for animals into a career when I first met our ranch’s Veterinarian.
