Yesterday was incredible, and we'd like to thank everyone who has donated during this year's North Texas Giving Day event and Early Giving window. Y'all are amazing and we appreciate your extraordinary kindness and generosity, especially during these difficult economic times. Every dollar raised will benefit the dogs you've met online over the past day or so, and because ABTRR is a 501c3 charity, your donations are tax deductible.

Meet Pearl: A Story of Transformation and Hope

Pearl is an 8-year-old Boston Terrier whose journey to healing began with heartbreak. After losing her elderly owner, Pearl was transferred to American Boston Terrier Rescue & Rehabilitation (ABTRR) from another rescue due to significant behavioral challenges. She was anxious, aggressive toward other dogs, and obsessively hoarded toys—behaviors rooted in fear and uncertainty.
But Pearl’s story didn’t end there.

Thanks to the unwavering patience, training, and love of her ABTRR foster family, Pearl has blossomed into a completely different dog. She’s learned boundaries, built trust, and now enjoys the company of other dogs. Her anxiety has eased, and her playful spirit shines through—especially when she’s swimming, one of her favorite activities. Pearl also loves car rides and has become a joyful, loyal companion.

Meet Raleigh – a sweet senior gentleman with a heart full of love.

Raleigh came to us through a kind referral from another rescue after his family had to move and sadly couldn’t take him along. Despite the changes in his life, Raleigh has remained calm, gentle, and full of charm.

When he arrived, Raleigh had bilateral cherry eyes and several large masses on his chest and body. But none of that dimmed his spirit. He quickly bonded with his foster mom, who absolutely adores him. She lovingly calls him the chillest Boston she’s ever met – and it’s easy to see why!

Raleigh has undergone surgery to correct his eyes and remove the lumps, and is now a forever foster in American Boston Terrier Rescue’s Foster Program. With your support, we can make sure Raleigh continues to receive the care he needs to stay comfortable and enjoy his golden years to the fullest.

Say hello to Charlie – one of our most special boys with a story that will touch your heart.

Charlie has been part of our rescue family for about eight years now. He came to us after a tragic accident – he was hit by a car and left behind, fighting for his life. Despite suffering a fractured spine, a traumatic brain injury, road rash to both eyes, and multiple wounds, Charlie never gave up.

Thanks to months of intensive care at a rehabilitative hospital, Charlie defied the odds and began his journey toward healing. He’s been our most expensive medical case to date – and every single penny has been worth it for this brave, resilient soul.

Charlie has also been one of our longest-term fosters, patiently waiting for a forever family to call his own. He’s gentle, loving, and full of quiet strength – a true survivor with so much love to give.
