❌ Myth: It’s OK for Pets to Lick Their Wounds
✅ Fact: Licking actually makes wounds worse. Pets’ mouths are full of bacteria, which can be introduced into the wound during licking, increasing the risk of infection. On top of that, the rough texture of their tongues irritates the tissue, making the sore more painful.

🐶🐱 The vicious cycle: The wound hurts → pet licks → wound worsens → more licking. Some minor cuts can quickly become much larger if left unchecked.

👉 Best practice: Use an E-collar or protective covering to prevent licking until the wound is fully healed. Always consult with our team and Veterinarian for proper wound care.
