HELLLLOOOOOOOO BELLAWOODS FAMILY!
I’ve been meaning to post this for months now.
An update on all the happenings:
Troy & I-
We had the house on the market, the pod was packed and most of you know we were headed to the mountains of Georgia. We had several showings on the house and many 2nd visits from prospective buyers. I believe we were days away from an offer when Troy received an offer from a company to stay in Florida.
It was a phenomenal offer and we had to really weigh the options before making a final decision. After almost a week of pondering & shot nerves we decided it was in ours & the dogs best interest to stay here in Florida.
I have been asked, begged & pleaded by some that have found out we are staying to start breeding again. Believe me I have thought about it but the answer is no. When we made the decision to place some of the dogs it was a rough decision. We placed some amazing breeders and I never want to feel like I am replacing them. All the dogs we placed are doing AMAZING with their people and the dynamic has changed dramatically with the ones we have kept.
Troy & I both feel it’s now time for the ones that are here to live out the remainder of their lives without having to deal with the hustle & bustle that goes into breeding.
I have owned an online boutique for the past 4 years and am in the middle of closing that down and will be a full time dog mom 🐶😍
For my PAST buyers please ALWAYS feel free to send me pictures/videos and updates to my phone—813-765-2793
The Dogs-
Sadly we recently had to put our German Shepherd Jager to rest for health issues. This was a tough one to handle as it also reminds us that many of our dogs here are getting older.
This year we celebrate everyone turning another year older with Bella, Blue, Bri, Sydney, Sadie and Champ all turning 10. When I look back at it, I think I must have been out of my mind to raise all these puppies at the same time but we had a blast doing it. Now I look at everyone slowing down a bit but still giving me the evil eye when they don’t get their way and amazingly can still go from 0-60 in .5 seconds when one has spotted a squirrel!
It kind of makes me sad to see all the grey popping up around their faces but at the same time we have had 10 years of unconditional love, amazing memories & some of the damn cutest puppies from these guys. The 6 named above are who started Bellawoods Aussies and for that I am forever grateful to them and look forward to the coming years with them.
Lastly, Little Atlas-
Atlas is not so little anymore, weighing in @ almost 20lbs. and turning 1 this year. His 1st round of bloodwork all came back normal but he still has some issues with his eyelashes. He developed an ulcer on his eye from one of his eyelashes rubbing on the cornea. Our vet plucked the eyelash and he is doing amazing now. We will take him to an ophthalmologist to see what are options are for correcting this permanently. His overbite has never stopped him from anything he wants to eat or play with. His coat is NOT normal 😂 and he is the fluffiest little marshmallow around. He gets into EVERYTHING and fears NOTHING!
We are all doing amazing and I hope you are continuing to enjoy your babies.
