What about retesting for radon?
If you tested your home for radon and found radon levels below action levels or above, EPA strongly recommends testing for radon every two years. Radon gas is a killer. Why would you not want to make sure radon is not going to cause induced lung cancer in your home? If you get a mamogram and get a colonoscopy, why would you not test for radon when reccomended? Make sure your radon mitigation system is working or make sure a radon mitigation system is not needed in your home.

The reality is radon is the second cause of lung cancer in the U.S. Sadly many people do not know they have radon in their homes or other buildings they frequent until they test for radon or get a lung cancer diagnosis. Don't fight a lung cancer battle if you don't have to. Testing for radon will indicate if levels are elevated. Elevated radon levels will require radon mitigation.

Ever ask yourself, do I need to test for radon gas?

When breathing radon, air breaks down the radon gas into very small radioactive elements called radon progeny. When radon progeny lodges in the lining of the lungs, they can give off radiation. This radiation can harm and damage the lung cells which over time will lead to lung cancer. Danger lurks in Radon!

Is radon testing necessary in every home?

In order to answer this question we need to explain what radon actually is first. Radon is a radioactive gas which causes lung cancer. Since radon cannot be seen, smelled or tasted, you may not know it is there. The only way to know that radon is elevated, is to test. Testing for radon can save a life and it could be you and your family’s life at stake. If elevated radon gas in found, radon mitigation will be needed in order to get those levels reduced. A radon mitigation system is installed by radon mitigation installers. After mitigation, radon testing levels should indicate levels are within EPA radon level safe guidelines.
