The Dawg Tour Hot Dogs Eat What You Love ! 🌭 As a kid, my Dad would rave about a hot dog joint in town that served a dog with a 'secret sauce.' He insisted it was PERFECT!

Dad ordered 6 with everything. Fast forward a few years and one bite was all it took...I was hooked! The dogs were mouth-watering. That's pretty much how this page and concept came into existence. After hanging one night with a buddy of mine, we got talking about hotdogs and realized we both had a love affair for them. We suggested hitting a few joints in the neighborhood. Those first visits event

ually inspired us to develop a rating for each hot dog. Hey, we should do a 'Hot Dog Tour' we thought. After doing some research, it was apparent that there were far more joints in CT than we ever imagined. The 'tour' idea was beginning to take on a much broader scale. It could take a year or more to complete. Beginning in 2014, the DAWG TOUR was born and is still going today! Originally, we are on a MISSION to find the PERFECT DOG - a solid 10/10! Is that possible we wondered? We found many that came close and a few that captured our idea of perfection. Around 2022, Dog Man Sac had a bold idea of creating his own unique hot dog. Based on years of research, THE DAWG TOUR HOT DOGS was officially opened in June of 2023 and has been going strong ever since. We thank all the dog lovers out there for the outpouring of support! Our Story

So...HOT DOGS you ask? Why of course! Ever since I was a kid, my Dad would rave about this joint in town (Upstate NY), always claiming it served the perfect hot dog. It was a dirty water dog with secret sauce that was truly ‘top secret’. The joint had a waitress who wore black nail polish. My Dad could never order just one. I eventually wanted to try what Dad was raving about. One bite was all it took...I was hooked! These things were delicious. Simply mouth-watering. That's pretty much how my love affair with hot dogs originated. I live in Connecticut. The state is bashed for a multitude of reasons however it is also a state that contains nearly one century of solid hot dog tradition. Families have patronized the same hot dog joints for decades, passing their love of dogs to their offspring. Traditions like the one my Dad and I share are commonplace. So, a buddy of mine got to talking about hot dogs. We talked about hitting a few joints in our neighborhood. Those first visits eventually inspired us to 'rate' what we consumed. We gained speed and started a tour, a hot dog tour. It would highlight each establishment, capture unique tradition, and document dogs where the joints took pride in serving. After a quick search, it became apparent that there were far more joints in CT than we ever realized. This 'tour' idea was beginning to take on a much broader scope. Who knew? This could take a year or more. And that’s not even considering neighboring states! *NOTE: we started in 2014 and are still going strong! THE DAWG TOUR was born out of a love for hot dogs. This tour is great because anyone can join, any time. To be fair and as consistent as possible, we always order our dogs with mustard, raw onion and sauce (chili). We look forward to sharing our love of HOT DOGS with the joints, owners, patrons of course with YOU. We are on a MISSION to find the PERFECT DOG - a solid 10/10!!! - THE DAWG TOUR, Dog Man Sac & J.
