During this time of year, coyotes become more active as they search for food and protect their territory. Unfortunately, small pets—and even medium-sized dogs—can be seen as prey, especially during early morning, dusk, and nighttime hours.

⚠️ Important things to keep in mind:
• Coyotes are highly adaptable and are commonly seen in residential neighborhoods
• Fenced yards do not guarantee safety—coyotes can climb, jump, and dig
• Unattended pets, even for short potty breaks, are at higher risk
• Attacks can happen quickly and without warning

🛡️ How to better protect your pet:
• Always supervise outdoor time
• Use a leash, even in your own yard
• Keep cats indoors at all times
• Make sure collars, ID tags, and microchips are current
