This is Karyn. These are my words & feelings about what is happening, and I ask that you please not make this post political. As many of you know, Kuwait is one of the countries the Greyson Foster Fund works with to help save dogs. Carla and I have had a relationship with Become A Foster Guardian (BFG) for years, even before we started GreyFosterFund.org. We’ve both adopted multiple dogs from Kuwait and deeply admire those involved with BFG for the incredibly difficult and dangerous work they do. Yesterday, when I learned of the drone attacks and bombings, my heart sank. The number of civilians and animals affected by this senseless violence is devastating, and I’ve been up since 3am with my head spinning. Today, we’ve been in touch with Annette, our friend and U.S. contact, who shared that there is currently only ONE worker left at the shelter caring for over 200 dogs and cats. They are trying to stockpile food and bread, and from what we’ve heard, they are truly living a nightmare. As I sit here looking at Lyla and Lemon peacefully sleeping, my heart breaks for those stuck there... both people and animals, with nowhere to go. Lyla came to us in 2020, and Lemon joined us in September 2025. Since then, we’ve fundraised to help three additional dogs get out, with plans to help more once they were healthier. And now this. As we sit in the safety and comfort of our homes, please take a moment to appreciate it. We don’t know what will happen next, but we are hoping to raise funds to help them continue stockpiling food for the animals and the remaining worker.
