Hello, East Texas!!
Long time, no see. I know.

Forgive me, becoming a mother has become quite the task! I appreciate everyone so much for not giving us a hard time for stepping back. However, as 2024 approaches, we have been carefully considering the reopening of CCR.

We have a few hurtles to jump, but I'm hoping you guys can help! 🙂

Last year, the cats resided in my personal home. We had a building we were working on potentially using (and it's still a possibility), but primarily I had up to 30 cats housed in my tiny 1 bed, 1 bath home.

That is not going to work this time around. Not with a baby, unfortunately.

We have a lot of acreage we could build an outdoor enclosure -- but then there is the issue of money for lumber, etc., as with me not working, we cannot afford to put too much in *financially* at this time.

So here's my question for ya' :

Would you guys like to see CCR reopen in 2024?

And if so, what are thoughts about fundraising/ideas for a place the cats can reside? Whether it be building an enclosure on our property, or finding somewhere else to reside them.

We will also need some donations! Food and kennels to start; monetary if you so wish. We also have an Amazon Wishlist pinned to our page for anyone that would prefer that route. Honestly, just sharing this post could make the difference!

The start of 2024 was a little earlier than I planned on making this work, but with YOUR help, I think we can do it! I cannot wait to begin helping the cats of East Texas again, and hopefully this time, for good ❤️🐾

Help!! I know I’ve asked a lot lately and we just need some help please 🙏. A senior was trying to find a home for this sweet girl. Not because she wants to but because she needs help getting her spayed and vaccinated. Let’s help her keep her baby please. She took her in when abandoned by the neighbors. Of course everyone wants to adopt her but our goal is to keep her with her family that loves her very much. Come one help me succeed and keep her with her senior family.

This is a great post and a great message. So many kittens are adopted this time of year on impulse just to be dumped months later. Pets are a COMMITMENT!!

This is why CCR has turned down several applications this month. We just want to know our animals will be loved and cared for and that the receiver of the kitty KNOWS what they’re in for. I do thank those people for their honesty, however. Especially the ones who have worked with us to change their situation in order to adopt. This means making the actual “gift” recipient aware of the kitten and having THEM sign the contract. Some people even keep the “surprise” aspect by letting the recipient unwrap a card with a picture of a kitty at CCR and a note that says “[name] is waiting for you!” That way, people can be made aware of the commitment they are making and have the chance and opportunity to say NO!

Thank you so much East Texas! Tigger AND Coone were adopted today!!

That being said, Chip is the ONLY kitty left here at CCR. Let’s find him the home he deserves! I am so happy that all of our babies have found loving homes and that I got to take part in this wonderful journey

Happy adoption day for Simon, Toulouse, and Twig!! I am so so happy for them ❤️

Tigger, Coone, and Chip are the ONLY sweethearts left at CCR. We started with 30 cats constantly being in the building, to now 3. It’s quiet here, and it’s only going to decrease more as CCR is - unfortunately - coming to a temporary close.

Please help us find Tigger, Coone, and Chip a home! We are so so happy for the Twins and Twig today — especially since the Twins got to stay together!!! But Coone (a Maine Coone mix) Tigger, and Chip (both brown DSHs) are just as deserving of loving homes.

• Countryside Cat Rescue WILL have a booth at Small Business Saturday in Van TX this Saturday from 10am-3pm. Come show some support and participate in an opportunity to earn a FREE photoshoot by Hampton Moments by donating to CCR. There is so much fun to be had at this event!

• Countryside Cat Rescue will also be present at Kilgore Geekend’s “Tis the Season” event Dec 10 in Kilgore TX. There, we will bring a couple sweet kitties and have a KISSING BOOTH set up to support for CCR!

• At the “Tis The Season” event, Jayden Gregory will also be singing some of her songs from her album “You” LIVE on the stage! This album will be available to the public January 1, 2023, and all funds will directly support CCR. Go watch to see what you’re in for!!

Baby Jax and Ellis were adopted this month! This picture her adopters sent us of Ellis was too precious not to share.

We still have Twig, Tigger, and Coone waiting to be adopted! They are from these same litters, so you can expect JUST as much cuteness from them! 😸 💕
