After 6 months (that felt like years) of working with these two fellas, we have broken through the barrier of success! Aussie “Gem” has fear based aggression and Shepherd/plotthound “Tank” is a HUGE 9 month old/90 pound puppy who does t know his size and isn’t fluent in doggie manners yet! They have been introduced in variety of settings and with many different people and activities leading up to their playful romp in the dog park yesterday! They really let loose and deserve a round of “apaws” for all their hard work to get where we are. We have a lot more training and learning to do, but we are ecstatic to celebrate our (their) amazing accomplishments!!! 🐾🐾🐾🐾

Dahlia is not the biggest fan of being groomed but the more we do, the more trust I earn and the better behaved she is! She has come so far with her patience! Aren’t her little ears the cutest?!

Service Dog In Training, Tank is coming along marvelously! He is doing a number of great and wonderful things, but so far his super power is down and under. For being 8 months and 88 lbs, he does a great job of tucking himself away. Yesterday we trained together at the Hampton Inn in Lindale and he did a great job. We rode the elevator, walked around, picked up keys, and sat around and under various locations. We are so thankful to have places like the Hampton Inn in Lindale that welcomed us with open arms and the whole staff were so nice and supportive. Remember, when you see a Service Dog team out in public, the best thing to do is just ignore the dog. Happy training!!!!

Gem and I took our usual trip to Tractor Supply for our first outing with his newest muzzle, and it was unusually busy! He was less reactive but much more alert. He did soooo well! Then we took the car ride across town for our first trip to Bed Bath and Beyond. Here I was more alert as I put him in his more comfortable Gentle Leader. Much to my surprise, he again did so great! We had a few tricky places where a few people got too close, but we were able to calmly maneuver away. Yaaay Gem! I also like to sit in the parking lot and let him “people watch.” He had much interest in what others were doing, but NO barking/growling reactions!! He just looked to me like “hey mom did you see them?!” Ahhhhhh Ultra Dog Muzzle

Waggin Tails Wednesday
While needing to accomplish some household tasks, I thought the Rescue Box Chews would be a great distraction to keep the sweet pooches out from under toe! They honestly didn’t last long but they were super excited to get them!

Tasty Tuesday
Fall is in the air, but it is Texas, so we are still enduring the higher temps! So I like to combined the two into Pumpkin Pup Pops! 1 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1 can pumpkin, and 2 teaspoons coconut oil. Mix together, pour into molds of your choice, and freeze. BAM easy peasy Pumpkin Pup Pops! Enjoy!

Marvelous Monday
Jewels, Gem, and Dahlia received their Bullymake Box yesterday! When they see the orange box, tails start wagging! Jewels and Gem can’t wait to stick their snouts in the box and find out what came this time! Dahlia hangs back and circles the wagon before she snags her toy! This is by far their favorite of our subscription boxes! They get the toys only box. Can’t beat the price on this one for sure! The toys are tough and lasting, and they are made here in the USA!

After discussions on how we can start serving the pet community while in these early stages we thought about/discussed several subscription boxes.
Now Kodi & I are happy introduce Rescue Box by Greater Good. With this year long subscription, Kodi and I are able to spoil our pets with AWESOME toys, treats, and chews while simultaneously helping to feed shelter dogs! Each box is said to feed 142 Shelter dogs and sends us 5 great products for our pet!
Please look in for the next 11 months as we see what our pooches think of this subscription! 😊

Feed your pooch Friday!!!
Cover 1 pound ground turkney with bone broth and cook until turkey is cooked through
Blend 5 eggs (shell included) with ¼ cup water in magic bullet until blended WELL
Pour into a measuring cup and add water to make the liquid 4 cups and top with 4 tbsps parsley flakes
1 large sweet potato -usually makes 1 cup (if it is a little more or less you can compensate with carrots
1 cup carrots
2 cups organ meat -here I used 1 cup hearts chopped and 1 cup gizzards chopped
2 – 2 ½ cup oats (I do not use the quick oats)
1 – 2 cups fresh zucchini
16 ounces frozen spinach
8 ounces okra
Mix together
Pour half of the mixture into the instant pot and cook on manul for 35 minutes (repeat with the second half)
*note liquid may need adjusting
