Some of you know our story, some of you may not—so here’s the short version. Thirty some odd years ago, my “cool uncle,” Scott Underhill—the man who could basically walk on water, build a barn with nothing but duct tape and confidence, and catch a brook trout out of a mud puddle—started a taxidermy shop powered by dermestid beetles. It was the first one in the area, which meant people were equal parts impressed and mildly terrified. Then life happened, priorities shifted, and the beetles went into early retirement. As a kid, I was fascinated with the whole process and hoped of one day operating our own beetle colonies.

Fast forward to now: we’re in our third season, building bigger, better, and probably with more beetles than Scott ever intended—thanks to all your support! Meanwhile, Scott is still out there being entirely too cool, dropping 200-lb bucks like it’s a hobby and keeping his nephew proud as ever (and maybe a little jealous).
