Public Service Announcement - It has recently been brought to our attention that some folks have been seen dropping their dogs off at some of the Lincoln Dog Runs and leaving them unattended in the run while they leave to do something and return later to pick them up. This is not okay! If you see someone doing this, please notify Animal Control immediately. Their phone number is 402.441.7900. Dogs left unattended in the runs will be treated exactly as any stray dog would and a ticket will be issued to the owner. If this is a practice you have adopted, please stop doing it immediately. Thank you very much!

**04-01-2019...ALL LINCOLN DOG RUNS ARE BACK OPEN per Lincoln Parks and Rec**

Nope this is not an April Fools Joke....thank you for your patience and understanding during the floods and maintenance of our dog runs. Have fun and enjoy the weather.

Please remember it is each dog owner's responsibility to pick up any p**p that is left by their dog as this is a city ordinance and you can be fined for not complying to this law.

**03/22/2019 Updated...The 3 new dog runs will be closed until at least 04/01/2019 for repairs due to the floods. Holmes Lake Dog Run is open**

Thanks for the update Lincoln Parks & Recreation.
Dog Runs Continue to be Closed due to flooding. During this time however Parks and Rec will be doing maintenance starting tomorrow March 20th. Please read the post below for further information.

DOG RUN PARKING LOT MAINTENANCE STARTS WEDNESDAY

Maintenance work on three of Lincoln’s dog run parking lots will start Wednesday, March 20. The work is expected to be completed by April 1, and is being scheduled while the runs are closed due to flooding. Repairs include minor grading and spreading additional rock throughout the lots. The three project areas include:
• Stransky Dog Run, (Peterson Dog Run) Peterson Park, 4419 Southwood Dr.
• Mahoney Park Dog Run (Mahoney Dog Run) near 84th and Adams streets
• Roper Park East Dog Run, (Roper East Dog Run) N. 7th and Adams streets

During the closures, residents may still use Rickman's Run (Rickman's Run Holmes Lake Dog Run) on the east side of South 70th Street in Holmes Lake Park. Maintenance will begin at Rickman’s Run when the other runs reopen.

As of 03/16/2019 the 3 new dog runs in Lincoln are still closed at this time due to the current floods. Per Lincoln Parks and Rec they want minimal damage to happen in the parks with all of the water and mud. They are doing this to avoid further damage to the new grass.
Holmes Lake Dog Run is open but please use caution when going to this dog run as the water levels are higher than normal which causes the current to be much stronger.
