đ˝ Letâs Talk Toilet Training!
Potty training your puppy doesnât have to be stressfulâwith the right plan and some patience, youâll both master it! đžâ¨
When should you take your puppy out?
đ Right after they:
⢠Eat
⢠Play
⢠Sleep
Itâs all about routine. Consistency makes all the difference! Here are 5 toilet training tips to help you and your pup âŹď¸
1ď¸âŁ Head straight to the toilet spot! đ˝
When you get home (after a car ride or walk), take them directly to their toilet spot. This teaches them where to go right from the start!
2ď¸âŁ Celebrate success! đ
When they use the right spot, immediately say âgoodâ or âyesâ and give them a treat. Positive reinforcement helps them associate the spot with rewardsâmaking them more eager to repeat the behavior.
3ď¸âŁ Take them out often! đŞ
After eating, playing, or sleeping, itâs time for a bathroom break. Frequent trips outside will prevent accidentsâcarry them if needed to avoid any accidents on the way out!
4ď¸âŁ Watch closelyâno free roaming yet! đ
Until theyâre fully reliable, avoid letting them roam the house unsupervised. Use a puppy pen or keep them in a specific area, or even attach a light leash indoors to redirect them quickly if they try to sneak off to a corner!
5ď¸âŁ Remind them where to go! đŤľ
Even if they seem to understand, keep taking them outside regularly. Donât wait for them to tell youâtheyâre still learning! Always continue the praise and rewardsâpuppies thrive on positive reinforcement! đđ
Extra Tips!
đŤ No punishment for accidentsâinstead, calmly redirect them to the right spot.
𧟠Clean up properlyâuse a bio-enzymatic cleaner to remove odors and prevent repeat accidents.
Toilet training takes time, but with patience, consistency, and lots of love, your puppy will get the hang of it in no time! đđž
