It’s not every day your patient walks in wearing her own set of needles! 😂🦔
We had a rather prickly patient come in today—an African crested porcupine named Quilma, who needed a little patching up.
Working on exotic species can always present some unique challenges, but suturing a patient covered head to toe in quills definitely makes you think a little harder about hand placement! 😅
After some careful maneuvering, our porcupine patient was successfully stitched up and is headed home to recover. ❤️
Definitely one of the more unusual patients we’ve had on the surgery table—and one we won’t forget anytime soon!
