Whew… the first week of school plus moving my son into his fall dorm just about knocked me flat! Between lesson plans and dorm room setups, the flower cart had to take a little bit longer of a break than anticipated.

But I’m so excited to say the cart will be back out tomorrow morning for self-serve! Not only will there be fresh flowers, but I’ve also been experimenting with some custom herbal + flower bath salts — a little sprinkle of garden therapy for your tub.

Thank you for being patient with me while I got my feet back under me. Can’t wait to see you all and get back into the swing of things!

I've thoroughly enjoyed taking some time off and staying out of the heat. The lisianthus have pushed a second flush though and I'll have the flower cart back out this weekend in time for the "cooler" weather- look, there are 60's in that forecast!

We are temporarily closed again this weekend. This hot and dry weather has got everything on the struggle bus except for the weeds! I'm currently cutting everything back and waiting for a second flush of flowers. Stay tuned!

🌸 Cart Closed Today – Out of Flowers & Off to IKEA 🌸

No fresh flowers on the cart today—everything still needs time to rehydrate, and I’m taking a day to do the same. We’re off to Atlanta to wander Ponce City Market, brave IKEA, and drop our oldest son back off at college.

Will we cry? Probably not.
Will we buy a bunch of things we don’t need and then forget where we parked? Absolutely.
Will we return with a suspiciously large bag of tealight candles and a shelf named “FLÄRGNUB”? 100%.

The cart will be back out Thursday with fully refreshed blooms. Thanks for all the holiday bouquet love! 💐

A Not-So-Perfect Garden Moment (and a Quick July Update!)

Happy Fourth of July, friends—whatever that means to you this year. Whether you're watching fireworks, avoiding them, or just soaking up some quiet time in the garden, I hope this finds you well.

Let me tell you a little story to remind us all that even when things look perfect… plants—and people—can be a hot mess behind the scenes.

Two weeks ago, I was convinced I’d single-handedly murdered every Dahlia I’ve worked so hard to grow. The plants were steadily declining, and I was spiraling:

Did I overdo the humic acid?

Did I—God forbid—grab the herbicide sprayer by mistake?

Is a dahlia virus I unknowingly spread like a botanical plague??

Nope.

Tonight, after WEEKS of watching these poor plants suffer and fretting over every possible mistake—I found out the water had been turned off. 🙃 No irrigation. No mystery disease. Just bone-dry dirt.

So, if your garden feels like it’s out to get you… same.

Now for the real news: July hours start next week!

☀️ Flower Cart Hours
Thursday–Sunday | 4:30 PM–Sunset
It’s just too hot to keep flowers out all day every day. But I’ll still have beautiful bouquets stocked Tuesdays and Fridays at Haven Bodega in Old Town Lilburn. And of course, if you need something special, just shoot me a message—I’ve got you!

Thanks, as always, for supporting my tiny flower farm. I’ll be out here watering (now that I can), talking to the Dahlias, and hoping for the best.

Stay cool,
Sara

This bloom bucket went out this morning for a sweet little ceremony 💐 Soft pinks, creamy whites, and all the good garden vibes.

These farmer’s choice buckets are one of my favorite things to make — you pick a color palette, and I go out and cut what’s blooming best. This one had about 65 stems of flowers and greenery, all grown right here.

Perfect for the DIY folks who love playing with flowers 🌿💕

These lisianthus have no business looking this good.
Started them from seed in December of 2023 (because apparently I enjoy a challenge), ignored them through the winter in the hoop house, and now they’re out here acting like they’ve always been this glamorous.

They survived cold snaps, my second-guessing, and at least one near-death experience involving a hose with a split. And now? Now they’re the main characters.

Catch them in this week’s bouquets—if I don’t just stand here staring at them like a proud plant parent who blacked out half the steps it took to get here.
