I love the Senior horses. Their years of experience, they bring so much to teach, they touch so many lives. They inspire the young riders to move up to shoot for more.
But the cross we bear with loving these older souls is their time with us eventually comes to an end. We have to do right by them, let them teach, watch them for what they need, know when their time for having a job is finish. even if they didn’t think so. It is our job to give to them what they don’t even know.
We love to let them have the dignity to retire, be a horse and live out their days. We hope we make all the right decisions for them. Advocate the best we can, love them and take care of them. Appreciate everyday we have with them.
For Furioso was a show stopper. He was admired how beautiful he was everywhere he went. He loved to be the star, he knew he was beautiful, he loved his job. So many people had the privilege to ride him, learn from him and most importantly love him. He would almost bite your fingers off trying to get his peppermint out of your hand coming out of the ring. He was also quite and lazy, but everyone loved the occasion “fresh” For. He never took a bad picture and was in at least 2 magazines.
He will never be forgotten. Thank you For for everything you gave me, ,Liz and Avery, everyone at Littlewood and all your riders over the last 12 years. You will be missed ❤️
