We have been busy this week and weekend with visitors and adoptions. Moon and Jasper were adopted.

Derby was gelded today and got his coggins! So he is current on everything and just needs weight.

Today we dewormed the group of donkeys we took in from Texas. Then we turned them out to the mom and baby pasture for the first time. What a joy to watch them run and enjoy life again! They all came in so skinny and sick.

Just another Sunday. The donkeys love visitors during the winter, break up the monotony of this season and come see us, we promise you will leave with a smile.

UPDATE on Derby! His feet are trimmed to the BEST that can be done right now. The internal structures of each foot were all crushed. He was just a little ouchie today but his biggest thing was he has to learn that his overgrown feet are no longer in his way. Yay! Pics are before and after.

Derby arrived at our facility today, presenting with a severe case of lice and significant weight loss, down to 151 lbs. He should be 250. His feet have obviously never been trimmed. He only has his 7 month old teeth with nothing else showing.

If you ever hear donkeys don’t need their feet trimmed, set them straight!

He likes his mash. So tonight in a soft stall, de-liced, and dewormed with a 1/2 dose. He is too wormy to take a full dose.

We can not wait to share updates with you. Once we are sure via the vet, he will get gelded

With the heaviest of hearts I need to let you all know that Pilot passed away. Just know he was loved.

Not such good news back from the vet about Pilot. He has peritonitis (an abscess in his abdomen. They are estimating 20% chance of survival. He has a chance but it takes money to save him.we are not giving up yet. If he is suffering, we will have to put him down but for now, he is still nibbling his food and has a feeding tube in. Theses are pics the vet sent me. Keep donating and saying prayer, send good vibes , reiki, however and whatever to help him live!!!
