We posted a few months ago announcing our new detection program. This sweet & spicy girl was the third pup to enter our program.

When we first met this Malinois at the shelter, we saw a spark in her eyes. She had so much potential, and we knew she didn’t deserve the euthanasia list - she deserved a chance. We brought her into our program with the hope she’d shine in detection work—and she did.

But just weeks later, we found out she was heartworm positive. It wasn’t the news we hoped for, but it didn’t change who she was - a young, smart, driven, incredible dog with a heart bigger than any obstacle in her way.

Now, she’s receiving the treatment she needs and has something even more special waiting for her—a forever home. She’s an amazing dog who deserves nothing less than the very best out of life, and we couldn’t be happier to know that’s exactly where her story is headed.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to our Lola.

We had 16 years, 2 months & 23 days of incredible loyalty, mischief, and love wrapped in one gray-muzzled chocolate Lab. She was the first to greet us at the door, the last to leave our side, and the one who somehow always knew when we needed her most.

Lola taught us to slow down and enjoy the sunshine, that snacks taste better if you share them, and that love—real, deep love—never fades.

Our house feels a little too quiet, but our hearts are forever full because she was ours.
Run free, sweet girl. You were one of a kind.
