It is with a sense of bitter sweetness that we inform you all, after much discussion and thought, Mom and I have decided this will be our final litter. We have an indescribable love of the breed and will always be available for our puppy parents no matter what. It has been a blessing and a joy to do something we both love. We are eternally grateful for the time spent together and the priceless memories that this experience has given the both of us. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to devote the required time to breeding that we feel is essential to raise puppies to our breeding standards. I work outside the home in a high stress and often overtime inducing job. We have had a very difficult and stressful time between work and the passing of my mother in law just two days before the birth of this litter. The bereavement process has prompted a life changing reflection of mine and my husband’s lives. This devastating loss has shown us the value of family as well as the preciousness and pricelessness of the time spent with them. We have 3 young, beautiful grandchildren and wish to devote more time to spending with our family. Therefore, we will be permanently closing Damico’s Basset Hounds by the end of the month. If you are on our wait list, please reach out and we will be happy to refer you to another trusted breeder we have worked with in the past. Thank you all for sharing our love of these silly, wrinkled, counter surfing, 4 legged monsters with us. Everyone deserves the chance to be owned by a basset hound. We hope you are blessed with one of your very own.
