We just found commitment for 8 kittens with ringworm/coccidia hours ago in hopes of clearing out our medical isolation ward, it didn't take long for these open kennels to be filled with new faces😔

To put this into perspective, we have 89 cats/kittens in care at the moment, but we only have 4 kennels that can accommodate cats/kittens with highly contagious illnesses. You can imagine this ward stays at capacity especially in peak kitten season. This is why we beg our community to spay and neuter💔

We have to prioritize our healthy population and prevent further exposure, which means we need help. We are looking for a foster home that has the ability to separate these little ones from any resident animals while they finish treatment OR we are needing to secure transfer to a rescue partner that may have an opening to help this litter.

🌷 Dahlia is a little shy when meeting new people and exploring new places. Because of that, she'd do best in a home with another friendly cat or kitten to help show her the ropes and give her the confidence boost she needs. Having a feline friend nearby really helps her feel safe and secure.

Milo is one of those dogs who makes you wonder how nobody came looking for him.
He was found as a stray and turned into animal control. He had clearly been recently groomed and was even microchipped, just unfortunately never registered. Despite that, no owner came forward, and now Milo is looking for a forever home that won’t let him go.

Milo is comfortable being held when picked up gently, but he can be sensitive about being grabbed or picked up suddenly. Because of this, any children in the home should be old enough to understand and respect his boundaries.

🍽️ Food Manners:
Milo has shown some food protectiveness toward other dogs when given especially valuable items such as wet food or human food. This is easily managed by feeding him in his crate, which he already does without any issues.

Walley is one of those dogs who simply wants to be wherever his people are.

Found as a stray in a field, he was pulled from animal control before becoming another victim of shelter overcrowding. Since then, he’s proven himself to be an incredibly happy, affectionate dog who absolutely adores humans.

🏡 House Training:
Walley is house trained but may do some marking when first adjusting to a new home. This has improved every day in foster care and should continue to improve as he settles in and his hormones finish adjusting after neuter. Belly bands make this easy to manage. He has had no poo accidents and keeps his crate clean.

🩺 Medical Notes:
Walley has a cherry eye that causes him no discomfort or issues. He also has a cough when highly excited or exercising hard. His heart appears normal, and he is currently on antibiotics as a precaution in case a mild URI is contributing.

😆 One thing to know about Walley: if he can see his humans but can’t get to them (such as behind a baby gate), he’ll make sure you hear his opinion about it!

Pierre has one of the most rewarding stories we’ve seen. He originally arrived as part of a large group of “Siamese” cats from a hoarding situation and was intended for our indoor/outdoor TNR program. Despite weeks of effort by his original rescuer, he remained too scared of people to be considered adoptable.

But Pierre had other plans.

Since arriving in our care, he has slowly but steadily blossomed. As he became more comfortable, we moved him into our indoor cat room, where he continues to make progress every day. What was once a frightened cat who wanted nothing to do with people is now approaching for attention, pets, and treats. ❤️

Pierre is still shy when meeting new people and isn’t quite comfortable being picked up yet, but his trust grows a little more every day. He loves lounging around, enjoys treats, and has shown us that he’s willing to keep working on becoming the confident companion we know he can be.

Good with dogs, cats, and kids? He has gradually warmed up to the everything he’s met. He is great with other cats, but he would most likely do best in a home past the “chaotic” kid phase where they’re extra loud and unable to respect boundaries as well as he needs.

Pierre would do best with a patient adopter who understands that some of the most rewarding cats are the ones who need a little extra time. We fully expect him to continue thriving in a quieter home environment where he can settle in at his own pace.
