At just 1 year old and about 50lbs, Collins is the perfect blend of youthful energy and snuggles.

Collins firmly believes the best seat in the house is whichever one is closest to you. Preferably touching you. Just to be safe.

Once you’re in her circle, you’re in for life. She follows her foster like a devoted little shadow and is convinced that every task is better when done as a team.

Cooking dinner? Together. Folding laundry? Together. Sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing? Especially together. In Collins’ world, personal space is more of a suggestion.

She can be shy when meeting new people and appreciates slow, gentle introductions. But once she feels safe, she melts. Truly melts. She’ll lean into you like she’s been yours forever.

She is currently building confidence during life’s solo moments, like when her people leave the house. Because she bonds so deeply, being alone hasn’t always been her favorite thing. The good news? She’s making wonderful progress with structure, consistency, and medication support. We’re already seeing her grow braver.

She will need a patient, understanding home, committed to continuing that journey and cheering her on. Collins would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not and where she has a confident canine sibling. Another dog isn’t just a bonus for her; it’s truly important. She gains comfort and confidence from having a dog friend to follow and learn from.

Collins does well with cats, too!

And if she wasn’t cute enough already, she knows some Spanish! Bilingual queen energy.

She’s looking for a calm, stable home where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. In return, you’ll get unwavering devotion, endless snuggles, and a best friend who thinks you are the greatest thing that has ever happened.

Hi! I’m Penny, and I'm up for adoption in Texas!

I’m a 4-year-old girl who weighs 82 pounds with a BIG heart, lots of love, and plenty of room in my life for my forever family!

I’m happiest when I’m going for a walk, riding in the car, or curled up at your feet while you work. (I’m basically an expert desk assistant! 😉)

I’m a well-mannered girl who knows my basic commands, and I’m very comfortable with a good routine. I also enjoy having the freedom to wander around the house and simply be part of the family. I currently happily co-exist with FOUR foster dog siblings, so I’m pretty good at navigating different personalities!

All I’m missing is my very own forever family. ❤️

I’m ready to bring love, laughter, companionship, and a whole lot of tail wags into someone’s life. Could you be my person? 🐶💕

❤️ Penny's Dream Home

Penny’s current foster thinks Penny would absolutely love a home where her people are around much of the time. An empty nester, someone who works from home, or a family with a flexible schedule could be a wonderful match. We could see her enjoying dog-friendly establishments and activities.

Penny is full of energy, but when she's tuckered out, she sleeps like a rock for a solid 8-9 hours overnight.

She'd love someone who will take her for walks, let her tag along for car rides, give her a comfy place to sleep, and most importantly, let her be part of their everyday life. She was clearly very cared for with her previous family and is a social gal.

We're still getting to know Penny when it comes to cats and children, so those are currently unknown. Her foster family is also patiently working on crate training. Penny hasn't really needed a crate; she's been given her own room in foster care. Her crate is always left open, however, and she's already been caught going inside for an occasional nap — so she's beginning to discover that it can be a pretty nice place to hang out.

Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Max! 🐾

Gorgeous yellow boy alert!

Some dogs walk into your life and immediately make themselves at home. Max is one of those dogs.

This 4 year-old, 80 pound yellow Lab is a goofy, sweet, and endlessly loving boy who wears his heart on his sleeve (and a big smile on his face). Every morning, Max has a routine: he flops onto his back and rolls back and forth, grinning from ear to ear, getting in a good back scratch before the day begins. It’s impossible to watch without putting a smile on your face.

Max is smart, medium energy, and happiest when he’s with his people. He loves his toys, adores treats, and is a total champion at playing fetch. He’s great with strangers and does wonderfully with older kids, greeting everyone like a friend he hasn’t met yet.

He’s house and crate trained, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

He’s still learning leash manners (like many enthusiastic Labs, he likes to pull a little), and he’s good to stay In his crate when you’re away from home. He’s a quick learner with a willing heart, and with patience and consistency, he’ll keep getting better every day.

Max’s perfect home has a fenced yard where he can run, and a family who will head outside to throw the ball with him. He doesn’t need anything fancy, just someone to play with, laugh with, and love him the way he’ll love you.

***JERRY UPDATE!!***

Thank you Camp Bow Wow Austin SW, for coming to Jerry's rescue!

Many miracles happened this weekend after we posted about sweet frosted face Jerry being surrendered into an animal shelter.

First, we received so much interest from people wanting to help foster or adopt him; we are still reviewing applications.

THEN, we got a game-changing message from Camp Bow Wow: they recognized the sad-faced dog in the picture; it was Jerry, who had been coming to their dog daycare for years! He was family to them. They had no idea his owner was turning him in to a shelter. They said, "We will go pick him up from the shelter right now!"

And LOOK at Jerry today, smiling, surrounded by his four-and-two-legged friends. He is happy again, and we are working to find him a new, loving home.

Thank you, Camp Bow Wow, and to EVERYONE who inquired and offered to help Jerry, you helped renew our faith in humanity, something that gets questioned every day in rescue.

TEXAS FRIENDS! WE NEED ONE MORE FOSTER! Y'all rallied for us today to help a dog; could you help us again? This poor dog and her puppies got dumped at a shelter. The puppies got adopted, and now this poor mom remains, shaking and scared at an overcrowded shelter.
We're told she's people and dog-friendly, but clearly terrified here. Lucky Lab pays for all her care. Fosters CAN adopt their dogs. Please fill out a Texas volunteer application on our website if you can help. Thank you! (We can get her a ride anywhere in Texas)

***JERRY IS SAFE, SEE JERRY UPDATE POST***

We are livid here at Lucky Lab. A couple adopted this sweet boy, Jerry, from our rescue in Texas, six years ago.

The adopters are now getting a divorce, and instead of CONTACTING our rescue to return him (required in the contract), they DUMPED him in an animal shelter.

We were just notified (thank goodness), and now we are begging for an immediate foster (or foster-to-adopt) for this now 9-year-old boy in Texas.

Jerry is neutered, and according to the paperwork from the owner surrender form, they say:

Jerry is a very good dog. Very affectionate, very playful, and matches the energy of the people in the room - when it's time to play, he's ready to play, and when it's time to rest, he rests. He is very food motivated. He attended a two-week sleep-away dog training program where he learned a great level of obedience and control. He plays well with other dogs off leash and is very well-socialized.

He is already neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you can foster (you can adopt your foster dog), please fill out an immediate Texas volunteer application at www.luckylabrescue.com.

Please help us give this poor dog a THIRD chance after more humans let him down again.

Up for adoption in Texas and New England: Meet Archer!

At 9 years old and 58 pounds, Archer is filled with s***k and playfulness! He is an adorable low-rider yellow boy; his legs are a bit shorter, but that doesn't slow him down.

Archer is the sweetest, gentlest little man.

He has lived next to a farm, and occasionally chickens would lay eggs in the yard. Archer would gently pick up the egg, carry it around, and set it down, never breaking the shell. He has the gentlest mouth and even takes treats as gently.

In Archer's prior home and foster home, he's loved everyone he has met. If he meets kids, he’ll play and play and play. If he meets older adults, he’ll sit by their side. Before Archer was surrendered to Lucky Lab, he lived with a man who was blind and then passed away. Archer was loyal and stayed right by his owner's side, but never tripped him up.

He’s grown up with other dogs in the house. He’s very friendly and gets along well with others. We aren't sure how Archer is with cats.

Archer loves going for walks, and he's eager to meet other dogs along the way. Though he is so eager, sometimes he barks a bit at the dogs to say, "Hey! Hey! Let's meet," but sometimes he doesn't bark at all. With slow meet-ups, once he’s calm with a few passes, he calmly meets the other pups. He REALLY wants to get to know Everyone!

Archer enjoys car rides. A preferable home would be one where people are around more than not. He’s OK staying alone, but he loves having someone with him.

Like so many dogs, Archer is afraid of storms and loud noises and can get anxious during those. He’s gotten much better over the years.

He’s kennel trained and sleeps in a crate at night. Otherwise, he’s lying behind your chair or, even better, right next to you.

Archer is a sweet, sweet boy. Could you be Archer’s new family?

🐾 Meet Daisy! 💕

Daisy is searching for a forever family in TEXAS or NEW ENGLAND, and this adorable girl is ready to bring plenty of fun, love, and snuggles along with her!

At about 6 months old and around 20 lbs, Daisy is a sweet, easygoing girl who loves to snuggle and go with the flow. She also knows how to have some fun and is always up for a little backyard adventure, especially if there’s a sprinkler to run through!

Daisy is great with furry friends of all shapes, sizes, and ages, including cats, making her an experienced little member of a multi-pet household.

She’s nearly fully potty trained and does wonderfully in her crate! When her foster family leaves the house, Daisy can happily hang out in her crate for several hours without a fuss. At night, though, she gets the VIP treatment and sleeps in bed with her foster family, where she curls up and barely moves all night!

Daisy is working on her leash skills and making great progress as she learns the ropes. She has age-appropriate vaccines and a microchip and is ready to continue growing and learning with a family of her own.

Playful, cuddly, easygoing, dog and cat experienced, and already doing so well with her puppy manners, Daisy is ready to find the forever family she’s been waiting for!
