Even if your pet stays indoors, they can still be exposed. Prevention is simple, effective, and saves heartache down the road.

October is a great time to check in on your senior pet’s health. Older pets often hide pain or illness, so watch for subtle changes:

• Slower to rise or walk
• Eating or drinking differently
• Sleeping more (or less)
• Changes in behavior or bathroom habits
Regular wellness exams and preventive care help catch issues early, keeping your senior pets comfortable and active.

📅 Call us to book a senior wellness exam this fall.

While February is official Pet Dental Health Month, dental care is important year-round. Did you know pets can develop dental disease as early as age 3? Left untreated, it can affect not just their teeth, but their heart, liver, and kidneys too.
✔️ Brush at home if you can
✔️ Use dental chews or rinses
✔️ Schedule routine dental cleanings
Keeping teeth healthy = keeping your pet healthy. If you’re unsure about your pet’s dental health, give us a call.

True or False: Only Dogs Wag Their Tails?

False!Cats wag their tails too—but it doesn’t mean they’re happy. In fact, it often signals irritation or agitation.

Some feline tail translations:
• Slow swish? They’re thinking.
• Quick flick? They’re annoyed.
• Straight up and vibrating? You’re a VIP.
Reading your cat’s body language is a great way to strengthen your bond (and avoid surprise swats).

Hop to It—It’s International Rabbit Day!
Rabbits aren’t just adorable—they’re smart, social animals that thrive with the right care and attention.

In honor of International Rabbit Day, here are a few quick tips for keeping your bunny happy and healthy:
✔ Rabbits need daily exercise outside their enclosure
✔ Hay should make up at least 80% of their diet
✔ Avoid wire-bottom cages—soft flooring helps prevent sore hocks
✔ Bunnies love routine and can even learn tricks with positive reinforcement
✔ Annual vet checkups are just as important as they are for dogs and cats

Dr. Hoch sees rabbits for wellness visits, minor procedures, and basic health concerns—so if your floppy-eared friend needs a checkup, we’ve got you covered.

💬 Rabbit owners: What’s something you wish more people knew about these special pets?
