You may want to give your furry friend a taste of something that’s on your plate, but it’s a good idea to make sure it’s safe for them to eat first. It's best to discard pumpkins that are past their prime.

While ripe pumpkins can be a nutritious treat, moldy pumpkins may contain mycotoxins that are harmful to pets and wildlife.

If moldy pumpkins are eaten, the mycotoxins can cause stomach upset, diarrhea, and life-threatening illness.

If in doubt, throw it out.

It’s National Pet Diabetes Month and we’re here to help you spot the symptoms of diabetes both early on and at a later stage. It is estimated that 1 in 300 dogs and 1 in 230 cats in the US have diabetes, so it’s important to be informed in case your pet is at risk. If your pet is showing symptoms, be sure to visit your vet.

❌ Cat beds, blankets, towels, & hay → trap moisture and get cold.
✅ STRAW → keeps cats warm and dry all winter!
