Due to the high volume of questions and comments on our page, we ask that you contact our facility at 828-572-4535, for assistance. Our amazing staff is prepared to help with pre-screens, adoptions, rabies vaccinations, surrenders, or any enforcement concerns. All lost furry friends in our care are placed on a 96 hour hold, to allow the owner proper time to locate them. We envision the day when Ca

Meet Dahlia, a beautiful greater swiss mountain dog mix who has been at our facility since 7/14/26.

One of her favorite things? Soaking up the sunshine! You’ll often find her happily sunbathing outside, enjoying every warm ray. Whether she’s lounging in the yard or relaxing by your side, she’s simply content being near the people she loves.

She thrives on companionship and would do best with someone who has the time to give her the love, attention, and companionship she deserves. In return, she’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty, endless tail wags, and a lifetime of friendship.

⚠️Rabies Case Confirmed in Caldwell County⚠️

Caldwell County Animal Care Enforcement Division - North Carolina has confirmed that a fox found at a residence on Park Loop in Rhodhiss tested positive for rabies. This is the second confirmed rabies case in Caldwell County this year.

Help protect your family and pets by following these important safety tips:

🐾 Keep all pets up to date on their rabies vaccinations and ensure they wear their license tags.
🐾 Supervise pets to prevent contact with wildlife.
🐾 If your pet is exposed to a potentially rabid animal, wear gloves before handling your pet to avoid contact with infectious saliva.
🐾 Teach children to avoid wild animals, including bats, and animals they do not know.
🐾 Remove food sources that attract wildlife, including pet food left outside overnight and food scraps.
