We need *YOUR* help! Beak N Wings is seeking donations to help offset rising costs of operating the rescue. Even with generous help from local vets like Mariposa Veterinary Wellness Center and Burge Bird Services it still costs over $10,000 yearly to care for the birds that come to us looking for new homes. We're also seeing increased costs in rent and utilities for or facility in Lenexa where we house some of the birds and also give our free monthly educational classes. We know everyone is experience rising costs, but if you are able to donate our feathered friends will definitely appreciate it! Since 1999 we have helped nearly 3,000 birds find new homes and you can help us continue that mission.

Hello all

Do you want to have a morning of fun. We are looking for volunteers to help with the parade float and parade. We need some people to walk, need some to carry the banner. If you are unable to walk the float, we do have slots for ypu to ride on the float. Not a member not a problem. Bring a bird and have a morning of fun. I am sure there are some who have always wanted to be part of the parade and not just a spectator. Now is your chance. Don't have a parrot, no problem. If you are interested in being part of our float please email [email protected] for more information and where to meet.

Cockatiels are considered excellent starter birds because they are affectionate, generally gentle, and have manageable care needs compared to larger parrots. Their small-to-medium size makes them ideal for apartment living, and their ability to learn tricks and whistles provides entertainment without the extreme volume of bigger parrots.
