Our organization is a 501c3 charity in the state of Kansas, and has always provided supplies and support to other rescues and shelters. Our Services

The Pet Connection can help you and your family find the right dog or cat for your personality, home and lifestyle. To ensure that your relationship with your new pet is a happy and positive experience, The Pet Connection is here to provide training

and support with a variety of services. Consultation and positive training for aggression, housetraining, barrier and leash aggression, separation anxiety, and other common behaviors that may cause people to relinquish their pets. Foster care programs that enable dogs and cats to live in a home environment in order to avoid euthanasia at a shelter, recover from prior trauma and get accustomed to life in a household until the pet becomes more adoptable. Assistance to pet owners who are unable to keep their pets and wish to rehome their dog or cat responsibly. For Animal Rescue Organizations and Shelters

Seminars and workshops that teach positive staff interactions with shelter animals and methods to decrease shelter animals’ anxiety. We can show you how to make the shelter experience more humane and less stressful for the dogs and cats in your care. Consultation and training for dogs and cats that need to be rehabilitated due to aggression, fear, separation anxiety and other behaviors that keep pets from finding adoptive homes.

We wrapped up the cat TNR project at Damage Control & Restoration Inc last week.

The original list of target cats was 6, we got 8.

One was hand captured, and after posting to try to reunite him with his owner failed he was fully vetted, microchipped and adopted!

The other 7 were ferals. A couple older males, an adult Momma and her 3 kittens (2 males/1 female) and the other bonus surprise cat was another female.

No spring litters for those 3 girls!
No fighting or risky behavior trying to hook up for the 5 guys!

Thank you to their caretakers who cared enough to make sure they are not just fed. They made sure this group will not add any more litters to the area.

Meet Tom, our newest baby.

Tom was trapped in a colony that we have been helping manage. We originally neutered several of these cats and help from time to time with food.

Recently, the caregiver re trapped Tom and took him to the vet. He is a senior, had pneumonia and most of his teeth pulled. She had a temporary foster home but considering his health and age she wasnt comfortable releasing him back in the colony.

He will live with us at the sanctuary so we can caretake him during his old age.

KC friends: We need a cat to be urgently transported from kc to beloit KS or at least to Manhattan KS. We are working on scheduling that to set the date. Anyone ready for a road trip?

The weather is beautiful this morning! Trapping prep makes such a difference.🌻 Destin Farmer and Monica Stampfel were checking the traps and the cats came to let us know they appreciate the grub. The orange guy let us know he has his bags packed 😜 and is ready for travel and a new chapter in life.

He was successfully hand captured and is going to a temporary foster home till placement can be secured. The local animal control is closed on Saturday but we didn't want to leave him behind.
