It’s with a very heavy heart to announce that I layed Miss Delta to rest this morning.

After what was thought to be a torn ACL turned out to be a leg full of cancer, she went downhill pretty quickly. Having just turned 3yrs old, this girl was destined to be one of the greats…

She came to me in the fall of ‘23 under some crazy circumstances, and turned out to be exactly what I needed. Delta was the most loving and sweetest hula girl I’ve ever been around.

Last summer she earned her UBT 1, ABTA Started, and Seasoned certifications, along with one helluva first tracking season.

Out of 27 tracks for her:
8 recovered dead
9 found on the hoof alive (hunter verified)
4 confirmation of life photos after tracks
2 left in the woods (probably my fault)

A dog’s love and loyalty far surpasses that of any human. She may not have been with me long, but her loss will leave a heavy hole in my heart, and in our pack.

These two meathead brothers (from Red x Boone) are headed back home to Iowa today. Rocky and Crocket just finished up started tracking and some obedience work at Devall Catahoulas. These two are going to be an outstanding pair to the Iowa Blood Trackers teams!!

Well, got some not so great news this morning. Miss Delta has a partially torn ACL, and is going to be on a strict rest & loves cycle for a while. Surgery is imminent, so a spring season of training is out…

She will bounce back and hopefully be ready to rock n roll come fall! Rest assured that the other knuckleheads in this crew are, and will be ready to hit it hard!

I’d like to take the time to congratulate Chris Johnson of Osage, Iowa on passing his ABTA started level on-lead test this morning with flying colors! Chris and his 8 month old Hanovarian Scent Hound “Seek” will definitely be loading some bucks in trucks this fall! I can’t wait to watch this team progress!

Our houla girls here at Triple M, have been on a long string of finding deer still alive, and non-fatal shots. We always say, you never know until you go, but the girls need some prizes at the end of their hard work.

That being said, for the next few days, I won’t be putting them on any seriously questionable tracks. If you are in the area near us, and know one fell dead, please reach out! I’d love for them to get a good reward or two…

Delta’s second track today was another win for her! At 30hrs old, and 1.1 miles in, we kicked the bedded buck up still alive! He ran off appearing to be in great health still, confirmed by hunter.

Blood was good for approximately 80yds from hit site. At 3/4 miles so showed me a baseball size spot of more blood just confirming we were on the right path. At 1.1 he jumped up in front us and the hunter watched him run off.

Great win for Delta, just not the hunter..
