Meet Murphy - Looking for His Perfect Match. 🧡Murphy is a 2.5-year-old Vizsla, about 65 lbs, neutered, and fully up to date on vaccines. He’s currently located in Western Massachusetts at Red Head Acres where he’s been working hard on his training and confidence.

This handsome guy has so much love to give and is ready to find his person — someone who understands the breed and is excited to build a real partnership with him.

A quick note about his photos:
You may notice Murphy wearing a yellow collar in some pictures that says “Do Not Pet.” This is simply a management tool used when out on trails or around strangers, and it’s something we will fully go over with any potential adopter so everyone feels informed and set up for success.

What We Love About Murphy:
- High energy and loves off-leash play
- Settles beautifully indoors (couch or crate pro!)
- Typical Vizsla velcro — enjoys being by your side
- No separation anxiety and does well with alone time
- Great with cats and farm animals
- Knows multiple commands: recall, heel, place, and more

Although he has made tremendous strides and has not had any bites at Red Head Acres, Murphy does have a bite history and struggles with confidence and resource guarding when his needs and structure are not properly managed.

Because of this, Murphy requires:
✅ An experienced, confident owner
✅ A child-free home
✅ An only-dog household

He does enjoy other dogs, but needs his own space and time to decompress. Management, structure, and consistency are key for him to thrive.

My best, goofy boy is still in need of a forever home! I am so incredibly proud of all of the progress he has made, he is ready to be someone’s new best friend. Unfortunately I already have too many redheaded best friends around here and he deserves his own person 💙
