Happy 5 months to the Vesta/Chancelor “Noble Ruler” kids!👑

In honor of their 5 month birthday, Hestia and Omen did a little growth comparison photo session. They grow so quick and it never ceases to amaze me.

We have been caught up recently with vacationing and putting some plans into action, so we have some catching up to do!

August has always been a big month for us and we have many birthdays to celebrate! So we figured we would do one big post!

On August 1st our Finlay/Barrett puppies turned 3 years old! Over the past year, two of these pups have passed their health testing (one girl we are hoping to breed next year timeframe and Mr Outlaw who is available to select ladies!) and Outlaw received his breed championship! While I’m sure there are many accomplishments I will miss in this post, I am so proud of all of my pups and owners for all they accomplish with their dogs. Even in the small unnoticed daily ways! Happy Birthday Outlaw, Strugill, Senora, Faust, Knox, Samson, Izzy and Jax!

On August 4th our Nova/Braeburn litter turned 6! I don’t know where the time has gone.. The Golden Girls were a force to be reconned with and Miss Bella produced one litter for us with $teele, which gave me my girl Portia. Which I will always be grateful for. Happy Birthday Nalah, Briar, Moxie and happy heavenly birthday to Bella Rose 🌹

On August 8th our very first litter here at NewMoon Shiloh’s turns 7 years old. Of course I will always have a special place in my heart for the Nova/Zephyr kids. This past year Appa has produced 2 litters of puppies that were the quality we love to see. His kids Ghost(Mytic/Appa) and Creed(Winnie/Appa) both passed their health testing and have had their first breedings take place. Recently Ghost welcomed 9 beautiful puppies with Sarabi at Moonlight Shilohs who we are thoroughly enjoying watching grow. All starting with the beloved Mr Appa boi. Happy Birthday to not only Appa but his littermates Boston, Lanie, Hank, Cetus, Baylor, and happy heavenly birthday to Elara and Maddie.

And last but not least on a smaller note happy belated 4 months to the Vesta/Chancelor kids! They are hitting the tall gangly stage but having the best time with their families! Love this group and continuing to watch them grow and develop!

We have some special plans coming up and after a puppy break we are about to step into action again! More on all of that to come! We may have a few mentorship puppies becoming available soon (mostly male and possibly a female) if you have any interest in a breed quality pup this fall! Keep your eyes peeled for more news on that and read about our mentorship program on our website.

We got to catch up with Nitro Rebel(Bella/Steele) recently and get some updated photos of him! Nitro lives down in Virginia and is a fully tested boy available to select ladies for stud. He is a calm yet playful boy (he loves his ball!) and our Portia’s brother! He has great height, nice bone, and powerful floating movement.

He is available through fresh and fresh chilled services.

Every once in a while, breeders get the chance to see their keepers grow up alongside their parents. And there is nothing quite like it.

We planned our last breeding years in advance, and I had hoped with everything in me that our perfect match would be born from that pairing. Breeding is a “highly researched gamble”, and even with the most careful planning we can’t guarantee any kind of outcome. Going into whelping with the possibility of only four puppies or less, we were ready to accept that maybe we weren’t meant to have a Vesta baby quite yet. Then Hestia arrived ready to party and we just knew deep down our dream had come to fruition.

Hestia’s mom Vesta is extremely special to us, and we waited very patiently for the perfect time to keep one of her puppies for ourselves. While some people may just see pretty dogs and cute puppies, we see a legacy we painstakingly and intentional put in endless effort to create. It’s a feeling that can’t be bottled up into words.

✨Pictured is Hestia at 8 weeks and again at 12 weeks next to her mom Vesta✨ The difference being Vesta has a little less coat and Hestia has a lotta more legs 😂 (hormones make the moms completely lose their coat after a litter before it grows back in thicker)

Our memory that came up from 2 years ago today 🐾🐾🐾

For those who have followed for a while you may remember Ghost(Mystic/Appa), Iris(Harbor/Brave) and Creed(Winnie/Appa) staying with us for about a month over the Summer of 24’.

Iris ended up staying with us, Ghost and Creed are both not far and are equally as spoiled by their amazing families. We will be posting their individual updated photos soon as all three have recently completed their health testing and passed with flying colors! We have plans lined up for all three that will be put into action over this coming year 🤞

We have a lot to catch up on but for now enjoy this throwback of cuteness 🙌

I wanted to take a second to shout out Blue Ridge Shiloh’s. For not only using our boy Appa with their female Gavia, but welcoming me into their home to help whelp and complete their litter eval. It’s been a wonderful experience getting to work with them from planning, to breeding, to whelping, all the way up to evaluation day.

One of the best things about getting so involved in Shiloh’s is becoming so close with people from all over that you would never meet otherwise. It’s equally as rewarding to continue to see the dogs you’ve dreamed of for so long not only grow up but continue to move forward their lines. Both of those things are true and present in this situation which has made it extra special.

While I was down there we scrounged up a little time to get glamour shots of the Gavia/Appa kids as well. They are the cutest little bunch and we couldn’t be happier with the results of this pairing.

We usually don’t do many boastful posts but the NewMoon family has been putting in the work these past couple weeks and we have some things to be proud of! Over Memorial Day weekend Cordelia(Vesta/Kerran) and Grimm(Carla/Jackson) ventured up to New York to attend the IABCA show in Oneonta.

Cordelia received:
Show 1- Best of Breed and a Group 1 placement
Show 2- Winners Bitch
Show 3- Best of Winners
Show 4- Winners Bitch

Grimm received:
Show 1- Winners Dog
Show 2- Best of Breed/Best of Winners, Group 1 and Reserve Best in Show

Grimm also got his Breed Champion accolade with his Show 2 win!

This past weekend we attended the Shiloh Shepherd IEW event in Weirton, WV. We were proud to have 9 NewMoon dogs registered, which makes up essentially 1/4 of the participants for the weekend. In attendance we had Kepler(Mystic/Zane), Hestia and Omen (Vesta/Chancelor), Oberon and Brave (Nova/Odin), Outlaw and Senora(Finlay/Barrett), Grimm(Carla/Jackson), Cordelia(Vesta/Kerran) and Sunny(Vesta/Chancelor) was cheering us on on the sidelines! In addition to showing I was honored to be bestowed the job of presenting the 2025 TSSR year end awards to some superb dogs and handlers as a stand in for our wonderful registrar who could sadly not attend.

We received the following accolades in the four shows held.

Show 1:

Cordelia: Winners Bitch and Best of Winners

Show 2:

Omen: Best Baby Puppy Male and Best Baby Puppy
Kepler: Winners Dog
Outlaw: Breed Select

In Show 3:

Kepler: Winners Dog and Best of Winners
Oberon: Reserve Winners Dog
Brave: Breed Select

In Show 4:

Omen: Best Baby Puppy Male

Cordelia finished her Breed Championship in her Show 2 win! Kepler is now only 2 points away from his Breed Championship as well.

Grimm and Cordelia also were the only dogs to pass their CGC tests (out of 6 I believe) and Shiloh Breed Ambassador certification (out of 4 adults). We pride ourselves on temperament and well behaved dogs at every event we attend and that showed true here. This should be strived for by all with no excuses in our opinion.

Brave(Nova/Odin) also received his Grand Victor year end award for ISSDC and TSSR for the 2025 year. He’s the first NewMoon Shiloh to achieve that level of honor (it is the highest pointed Shiloh for the year across all shows!). He also got to participate in his first progeny class with his two sons (Paczki and Buck) from the Maggie/Brave pairing with Brick Chapel Shiloh Shepherds! It was wonderful to meet both families and spend time with some of his progeny!

I am so proud of all my families for showing up and putting in the time, effort, energy and heart to show our dogs off properly and in a positive way! You guys are all amazing and keep me going in this crazy world of breeding. Seeing you work with your dogs to be the best they can be fills my heart. The world needs more of you all. Here’s to our future successes and the work put in along the way.

Thank you to all the coordinators who helped to put these weekends together. Coming from someone who has put an event on in the past, it takes a lot of time and effort and deserves to be praised.
