Anyone who says “they are JUST dogs” simply doesn’t get it.  Every dog owner in history will tell you that they are far more than that, even if they can’t fully express why.

This week was one of the saddest we have ever experienced.  After 16 years of immeasurably enriching our lives, the dog that started it all, Dumpster Daisy, is finally resting.   

15 ½ years ago we found her in a dumpster, 14 years ago she helped us build the world’s first forward-facing backpack dog carrier and the years since were spent putting thousands of miles on her personal K9 Sport Sack.  In return for shaping us into who we are today, we tried our best to give her the life she deserved, a tall task for the best of the best. We never knew we could have so much love, and so much gratitude, for a tiny fuzzball that stole all of our socks and took up more than her fair share of the bed. 

We will never stop missing her. 
RIP Daisy 2009-2025
