Mare Lovers!!

We are regretfully listing Blue for sale, as her current owner has outgrown her, but will be very picky where she goes!!

Out of the Blue (Blue)
16.2
17 year old Thoroughbred/Percheron
Mare
Lower 1^,^^^

Blue is a great horse for a younger (or older!) rider to learn and grow on! Whether just entering crossrails and wanting a something uncomplicated, or moving up to short stirrup and wanting to show off a little, Blue is your gal. She knows how to put on her fancy pants in the show ring, and has tons of show experience.
Loads and trailers well.
Will take a joke all day long, and knows how to find her own distances.
Uncomplicated transitions.
Auto changes in both directions.
Flexible and moves off leg well, easy to get on the bit.
Maintains pace well.

2025 Year End Awards:
-Champion Pre Child Mini Medal Division (2’6”)
-Champion Pre Child Eq Division (2’6”)
-Top 15 at year's end for Medal and Derby Finals Qualifier
-3rd of 15 at 2’6” Derby Finals
-5th of 15 at 2’6” Medal Finals

She can school 3’0” easily at home, but since she is an older gal, we would like to find home for her that will compete her under 2’0”/2’3”, and only go higher to give her rider experience in a schooling-type setting. She’s a fantastic girl, and we want her feeling and performing her best for as long as possible and for her next owner to feel the same.

A buyback clause in the sales contract will be a must!

Please email [email protected] for any more information, or if you feel you have a rider that Blue would be the perfect partner for!

She will be showing in Tryon this upcoming weekend
(March 13-15) at the TIEC and available for trials.
Please email to set this up if you are interested!

Schooling programs and their school horses are such an important aspect of creating not only the best riders, but the best and most well-rounded people! The more the kids can be in an environment where they are challenged, yet supported, heard, and encouraged, the better. Let’s keep creating great (horse) people, and not focus on the ribbons or money. Ultimately, great things will come from a great foundation!

In many barns today, school horses are quietly disappearing. Rising costs, time constraints, and liability concerns have made them feel impractical. Some feel it’s an outdated model in a sport increasingly driven by private ownership and full-service programs. But at Belleame Farm in Ohio, trainer Jennifer Edwards has held on to her lesson horses. And the riders who have come through her program, some of whom have gone on to compete at the highest levels, offer a compelling argument for why.

“We still want that atmosphere in the barn,” Edwards says. “We want the school horses.”

For Edwards, school horses are the foundation of how riders learn, how families enter the sport, and how long-term horsemanship is built.

Edwards and her husband, Rob, have run Belleame Farm together for more than four decades. They teach every lesson themselves. They travel with their students to horse shows. And from the beginning, they have insisted that riders start where learning is clearest and pressure is lowest.

“We never, ever push anybody to buy a horse,” Edwards says. “That’s not our program. That’s not what we want to be.”

Instead, children begin on school horses—good ones. Horses capable of going to horse shows, being competitive, and teaching riders how to ride rather than how to manage an investment. Riders are allowed to progress at their own pace, to decide whether the sport truly speaks to them before families are asked to make major financial commitments.
