UPDATE-
Michael got a phone call from the manager of HITS and had a great conversation with him. They are adjusting the bill and working with us to create a reasonable solution. We are grateful to them for reaching out. We also grateful to all of you who interacted with this post.
Hope all the horses end up healthy!!
HITS CULPEPER - as you may know, there was a positive case of EHM on the grounds. HITS was pro-active and compliant with protocols and we are appreciative of that. Out of an abundance of caution, we came home early Saturday morning. The problem I have is that one of my clients left the show with an $800 bill including A NON SHOW FEE of $75 because the CHILD riding a PONY didn't show - because we chose to come home. When questioned about the fee, the answer was "management said it had to be charged." The CHILD was in SCHOOL yesterday and while our Assistant Trainer schooled the pony, it never "showed". They paid $800+ dollars for a one day stall and one day schooling, in addition to the other fees. Would I have been okay with them "crediting" this money towards another Culpeper later in the year? ABSOLUTELY YES. Should that happen? ABSOLUTELY YES!! Is this unbelievably BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE?? ABSOLUTELY YES!!! Please let us know - and HITS know your thoughts about this RIDICULOUS single fee AND their bad customer service. Ugh. (picture of ADORABLE pony)
