Our first VHSA Cavallo Farm Show was a blast!!🎉🎃

We’re still reminiscing on our AWESOME week at Lexington National with all of our riders in August!!💐
Here’s some MORE highlights from the successful week!
Isabella Bertozzi and Oahu earned RESERVE CHAMPION for the VHSA Adult Equitation Flat Final after a very intense two rounds of competition!!❤️this pair also earned a 5th in the VFC 2’9-3’ Hunter Derby!🌺
Tracy Romito with her very own Make it Rain started out the week with a 7th in the Lexington Hunters and kept going with beautiful rounds in the highly competitive Adult Amateur Hunters 50/O!! Look at them jumping in perfect form!🧡💧
Talia Baghdoyan with her King Midas jumped in picture perform form in the 1 meter amateur jumpers!!👑 This duo earned a 4th in the classic and an 8th to start the weekend!
Eva Smith and Akrobat stepped into the ring for their debut with a successful weekend in the Low Adult Hunters, earning an 8th with numerous lovely rounds!🤸🏻‍♀️🤎
Elsa Eastment with Domino Van Lange Weeren earn 8th in the THIS adult medal and a 4th in the VHSA adult flat medal, earning them a spot in the final! These two also hunted around in the 3ft VFC Hunter Derby! 🖤🤍
Marie Bertozzi with Open Water earn RESERVE CHAMPION honors in the .85 Junior/Am jumpers!! They also sped to a 3rd in Classic!🌊
Jenny Ziessman and Take Z Charge laid down lovely rounds in the Low Adult Hunters all weekend, earning a 6th out of a very competitive division!💚
Elizabeth Mumford with Michelle Newton’s Out of Office take on the .85 jr/am jumpers and sped to a 3rd then an 8th in the classic!💼
Jessica Knight with her Marcus Aurelius take on the 2’9-3’ Derby with style and grace!👑
Our newest addition to the Bertozzi family, Maui, made his debut with Isabella Bertozzi in the Non Pro 3ft Hunters with two beautiful rounds!🏝️

BEAU CHEVAL
We first me Beau Cheval, "beautiful or good horse", August 2017. We had been looking for a unicorn of a horse for Kara to ride for a year- and Mr. Mike delivered. Beau Cheval by way of France, and first owner had not been ridden for 4 years but was a match for Kara, who instantly fell in love. Kara learned to take ownership, gained confidence and went on to win plenty of ribbons with Beau. When it was time for Beau Cheval to step down, Cavallo graciously allowed Kara to continue her bond with Beau; transitioning him to the beginner lesson program. By staying on at Cavallo, Kara maintanted her bond with Beau Cheval while building new bonds with her new horse, Alaska. She always had to check on Beau Cheval before we rode Alaska.
Kara will tremendously miss Beau Cheval as he dances around with his friends, Boots and Ches. He taught Kara so many lessons beyond riding and patience, caregiving, sportsmanship and confidence. We will never forget Beau Cheval, he truly lived up to his name, "Good Horse".

We’re continuing our summer with more Horseshows In The Sun… HITS!!😎 Cavalier Classic brought lots of successful rides and joyful moments!!🥰

Take Z Charge and Jenny Zeissmann laid down beautiful rounds to earn Champion in the Culpeper Adult Hunters!! This pair brought home three blue ribbons in the division and a 2nd place! 💙
Isabella Bertozzi and Oahu brought home Reserve Champion in the Adult Equitation after earning 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th!! This pair also stepped into the 3’3 Amateur Hunters in style, riding to 4th, 4th, 5th & 8th!🌺 They started the week off strong with a 9th place finish in the USHJA National Hunter Derby!
Domino Van Lange Weeren and Elsa Eastment reunited after a long year away at college without missing a beat! This pair earned a 2nd in the VHSA Adult Medal, 3rd in the Ariat Adult Medal, & 6th in the VHSA Adult Flat Medal and USHJA Jumping Seat Medal. They also laid down beautiful rounds in the Adult Equitation, earning 2nd, 4th and two 5ths!🖤🤍
Plausible Deniability and Lily Allen brought home a SPEEDY second place in the .80 jr/am jumper classic & earned an 8th the day before! 🍪
Open Water and Marie Bertozzi earned a 1st, 4th, 4th & 5th in the .80 jumpers and finished out the week with a 10th in the classic!🌊

The rest of our team also shined at the HITS League Culpeper show!!☀️☀️☀️
Xander Rappaport and Colston are continuing to rock it in their transition into the jumper classes, earning a 7th in the 2’3-2’6 Jr/Am jumpers!!🤍
Laura Green and her Plausible Deniablility also had a wonderful week in the 2’3-2’6 Jr/Am jumpers with clear rounds all week and earning 11th in the classic!💚🍪
Vagabond and Anna Haigh also stepped into the jumpers together with great success!! This pair earned a 3rd in the open jumpers and a 5th and 8th in the 2’3-2’6 Jr/Am Jumpers! 🔥
Oahu and assistant trainer Elle Evers took on the Hunter Derby with style and grace, earning an 88 in the handy round and bringing home 2nd!!🌺
Make it Rain and Tracy Romito had a stellar weekend in the Adult Hunters 3’!! This pair took home a 2nd in the handy round, a 4th and 7th over fences and a 5th under saddle!🌦️🍊

Our young riders did an amazing job at the Culpeper League horse show in June!!🌞Their hard work, focus, and big smiles made us so proud. They showed up with confidence, rode their hearts out, and had a blast doing it! Way to go!!🎉
Some highlights from the weekend include:
August West and Sofiya Wynnycky took home 3 tri-colors! This pair took champion in the Open Crossrails Hunters & the 14 & Under W/T divisions, earning a clean sweep of blues in the W/T division!!🎉💙Sofiya and August West also earned Reserve Champion in the Short Stirrup Hunters!
Fortune Cookie and Madison Libutti rode their way to great ribbons in the Short Stirrup Hunters, earning a 3rd, 6th and an 8th!🥠💜 this pair also took home 6th, 6th, and 7th in the 14 & Under W/T division!
Sea Breeze and Riley McKenzie made their debut one to remember!! 🌊 This pair put in beautiful rounds in the Open Crossrails and earned two 8th placings! On top of that, they earned an 8th place in the Pony Hunter Pleasure class!!🤎

We are still riding the high from an awesome weekend at the Loudon Benefit Horse Show! 🐴🌟💚
The weather was great and we loved having so many of our riders cheer one another on since we were just down the street from home! 🏠We’re so proud of every round, ribbon, and ride!!
Isabella Bertozzi and Oahu took on all 3 rings with style and grace! This pair took second in the VHSA medal on the flat and over fences, laid down a lovely round in the jr/am Hunter Derby, and had clear rounds in the jumpers!🌺
Katie McAfee and Commander in Chief as well as Jessie Knight and Marcus Aurelius both rode beautiful rounds in the middle adult hunters!! These two lovely pairs rode to top ribbons in the main hunter ring, and even conquered the Hunter Derby!! Katie earned a 3rd, 6th & 8th and Jessie took home a 5th and two 8ths!🎉🍾💅
Talia Baghdoyan and King Midas also did fantastic in all three rings!! This duo earned a 7th in the VHSA adult medal and finished out the week with a speedy 8th place finish in the amateur meter jumpers!!👑
Elizabeth Mumford and All that Jazz stepped into the 1m jumpers like champs and ended the week with a 6th!! Congrats on this huge achievement!🎊🎶
Xander Rappaport and Colston took on their first big show in the jumpers and did amazing, completing three clear rounds over the fences!!🤍🔥
Our .85 jr/am jumpers Lily Allen with Plausible Deniability and Marie Bertozzi with Open Water had successful rounds all weekend! 🌊🍪

They grow up so fast!!!🎓🥹🎊Congratulations to Rhian Williams on graduating high school with the class of 2025!! Rhian has been with Cavallo for over a decade and it has been so wonderful to watch her grow up!!💜We are so excited for her to continue in her journey as she studies Art History Restoration with a minor in Theatre at Salve Regina University in Rhode Island!! Congrats Rhian!🥳🎨
