Sorry! It’s been a little while since I’ve posted an update or cute dog videos/pictures! It’s been busy and I’m completely running on survival mode!
Ella’s dad (Mike) is doing really well after his stem cell transplant. It’s been a lot but we’re getting through it together and his recovery has been nothing short of AMAZING! Thank the Lord for that! 🙌🏼
Isolating is not fun but it’s required and it’s in the middle of flu and virus season.
We’ve had amazing support, dinners, DoorDash gift cards, prayers and people checking in on us! Thank you from each of us!
It’s been quite the journey and Mike has 60 more days of complete isolation. After that they will slowly reduce his restrictions with being around limited people and going into public. He will be susceptible to viruses and without an immune system for roughly 12mths and building mostly over the next 24mths. He will also be on a 2 yr targeted medication that will keep fighting his Leukemia cell mutation NPM1.
We will have to try avoiding people who have been sick and/or vaccinated for a time(they have not given us that time frame yet, only to avoid people who fit in those categories for roughly 14days after sickness and/or vaccination due to shedding.) It’s really a strange place to be in….but he is no longer protected from the simplest of things let alone the big stuff! He will have to go back through his childhood vaccinations and rebuild his immunity from scratch. 🫠
As for Ella, Matthew and myself we are avoiding places like Costco and busy crowded places and masking in public. We are also isolating as much as possible as a precaution that we don’t bring any sickness into our home while Mike is still in this beginning stage of recovery.
We miss all of our people, family and neighbors. We remind ourselves often that this is a short time of inconvenience for a longer life together! 🙏🏼
So that’s my update for now! Thank you again for the support and prayers!
We love all of our friends, clients and the furry family members! 🐶💕🐱
