Dr. April Miles has always wanted to be a veterinarian. As a child, she would pretend to perform treatments and surgeries on stuffed animals. She began pursuit of this dream by working with an oncologist at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, researching canine mast cell tumors, while completing her BS in Genetics in 2003. She remained at UC Davis for her DVM, which she earned in 2007.

She practiced in many busy clinics throughout Southern California, where she discovered her passion for servant leadership, mentoring new graduates, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery.

In February of 2024, she decided to move to Lee’s Summit to be closer to family and experience all the joyous seasons a day in the Midwest can bring. She is so excited to call GoodVets her home now.

During her free time, Dr. Miles enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking, biking, exploring with her dogs, attending baseball and football games, and reading.
