This is Willie Nelson — a total cutie patootie!

This little sweetheart suddenly began having seizures, which was incredibly alarming for his pet parent. Thankfully, because she had purchased pet insurance, Willie was able to get the diagnostics he needed. With her Trupanion pet insurance plan, he was able to receive an MRI, which revealed he has a brain tumor. Trupanion covers 90% of all Willie’s treatments after his deductible is met.

Willie is now undergoing chemotherapy and radiation. The good news? Dogs tolerate these treatments far better than humans do, and the side effects are usually much milder. With continued therapy, we hope to stop his seizures and extend his life so he can keep being the cutest pudding pie ever. Send Willie all your love and support, his mom loves him dearly ❤️

Starting Thursday, November 6th, we will have an animal chiropractor available from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Here’s a little bit about Dr. Winter in her own words:

Hi! I am Dr. Stephanie Winter. My main goal as an animal chiropractor is to help bring optimal health and enhanced performance to your animal!
I was raised on a farm in a small rural community in south-central Minnesota. We had cats, dogs, horses, cows, and pigs, Oh My! Animals captured a special part of my heart very early on in my life! In fact, my first spoken word was the name of my dog. I have always loved being around animals.
After I graduated high school, I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Health and Wellness, from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. I then obtained my Masters of Social Work in Child and Family Therapy from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS. From there, I worked in the corporate world about 10 years before I realized I needed to go back to school. I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University in Marietta, GA. Then I graduated from Options for Animals College of Animal Chiropractic in Wellsville, KS, and I became certified by the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association to perform chiropractic care on animals. I then became a Certified Veterinary Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist through Healing Oasis in Sturtevant, WI.
I currently reside with my Golden Retrievers in Kansas City, MO. When I am not performing chiropractic care on animals or humans, I love to walk my dogs, ride horses, do yoga, read, and play piano. I look forward to providing excellent care for your animals!

It's Pet Obesity Awareness day! It's never fun hearing that your pet is overweight, it can even be an embarrassing conversation to have. But, pet obesity is a huge problem; One that can take years off of your pet's life.
When we (as vet professionals) bring up this topic, it's not to make owners feel bad or embarrassed. We truly want what's best for your pet!
The Association of Pet Obesity Prevention has great information and ways to help your pet. They also have resources that you and your veterinarian can use together to get your pet to a healthy weight! And, love longer!!! Who doesn't want their beloved pet around for more time?!
