If you were here way back when I was literally cutting fabric on the coffee table on my knees then you know! I didn’t always have a cute, aesthetic room to make bandanas in. When I first started out, I only spent on strictly the essentials: fabric, elastic, thread. And I believed in my core that I would grow. I knew I wouldn’t give up, only adapt when things weren’t working out as I expected.

Anyways, I know how hard it can be to fight the comparison game when we’re scrolling on social media. I hope this post reminds you that you don’t have to have everything perfectly figured out to start! Make sure you’re following me for more small business inspiration & tips!

Moral of the story is to NOT compare your day 1 to someone’s else’s year 4. Don’t even compare at all for that matter. It will quickly suck the joy out of your journey. We’re all on our own unique paths and everyone’s will look different!

Did you know you could use your thermal label printer for more than just shipping labels? I was in a pinch trying to figure out a quick and reasonably priced way to make my customers aware of the protective paper on my acrylic templates. That’s when the idea hit me - use what I already have! I had these stickers from Amazon, so I opened up Canva and quickly got to work!

What do you think of how they turned out? What might you have done different? Any questions after watching this video?

Starting a business doesn’t have to mean going out and buying every tool that exists. I spent a long time using what I had and stretching things as far as they could go before upgrading. That’s honestly still my approach to this day.

I’ve heard from far too many people that they started selling something they made because people were telling them to and they ended up no longer wanting to make anymore. It’s okay if it’s a hobby for you. You don’t have to sell, you can do things just because you like to do them.
