I’ve been seeing fleas and ticks WAY early this year already on dogs. Take appropriate measures folks for YOU and your pets. I get asked a LOT about pet topical treatments and ingestible meds - I am not a trained veterinarian nor a vet tech so I am ALWAYS going to recommend you talk to your professionals please. I do know a lot of “homemade”/essential oils people use are not good for pets and can severely burn their skin (humans and canines have different PH levels, skin density, and tolerances) so please PLEASE talk to the trained professionals before using anything on your pets.

When I’m out dog grooming, I put 100% tea tree oil on a cotton swab and swirl it around the top of my socks to help deter critters from crawling up my legs when I tromp across peoples yards. But I would NEVER use tea tree oil directly on a dog, not even on their collar.

Stay safe y’all, Lyme disease is not fun.

Tick season seems to be off to a fast start, with an unusually high number of bites already reported across the country.

Weird, I have used up nearly ALL my storage on my work phone. I realized it was because I keep all my text messages. Previous job was with the government so I learned to keep EVERYthing as documentation. But that has to end so I can keep using my work phone for work. Sigh. No one will care but I’m deleting messages as I go now. Feel free to check/test me if you think I forgot an appointment or am late or just for fun. Thanks for reading this PSA lol

I’m all about helping the pollinators. Let’s do our part so we can ll have fruits and veggies and flowers this year! 🦋🌸🍏🥒🫛🌶️

🌔 Lights Out for Spring Migration - From Apr 15 – May 31, we ask that you turn off non-essential outdoor lights between 11 PM – 6 AM to protect migrating birds and vital pollinators.🦆🦋

Artificial light at night disrupts natural behaviors, reduces pollination, and can draw wildlife into unsafe areas—impacting birds, moths, monarchs, and more.

Simple actions make a big difference:
• Close blinds at night
• Don't use landscape lighting
• Use warm, down-directed, motion-activated lights when needed

🌟 Together, we can reduce light pollution, save energy, protect wildlife, and bring back the stars.

Dog grooming can be stressful on any dog. It’s not “just” a clipper trim or some water splashed on the dog’s coat. It is physical work and can be upsetting for many animals.

Our goal, as dog groomers, is to help your dog remain calm, comfortable, and cooperative during the grooming session. We do NOT want dogs to be nervous and fighting us the entire session. Dogs can get hurt when they are NOT comfortable, calm, and cooperative. And so can your groomer.

And if your dogs health has been compromised (injury, sickness, heart conditions, etc.) then your dog runs the risk of getting hurt while he/she is being groomed.

It is VERY important to tell your dog groomer if there have been any issues since we last saw your dog so we can make a healthy decision about how to go forward with their grooming.

I want your dog safe 100% of their time with me. I have processes in place and tools to use in order to keep them safe. So if I cancel the appointment due to the dogs health it is for your dogs benefit. As much as I try to keep the grooming session easy, safe, and calm, many dogs still get anxious… even the ones that love me! I am not willing to put your dogs health or life at risk. So, as long as your vet gives the ok for your dog to be groomed then I am willing but will still evaluate the situation as needed.

I hope you trust your dog groomer and that you value their time and the education they have mastered in order to keep your dog safe, calm, comfortable and cooperative.

Thank you for reading the PSA. 🐾🚐🧡

This dog of mine 🙄
We have a canine guest for the weekend and since we haven’t had much rain our grass is just dirt…which they’ve been churning up and slobbering on each other. Clean-up on aisle 7 please!!!

This is lengthy but very much worth the read time. I am a “humanity over vanity” dog groomer so will choose to trim off the coat and do a ‘start over’ haircut for you dogs well being and health. Zero judgment zone here!! No blame on ANY owner with their dog’s coat matted or over grown.

I will, however, give you homework and make recommendations for brushes and probably keep you on a 4 week or less grooming rotation. And I wi understand if is not what you want or can afford because at that point I am not the dog groomer for you. No shade, just facts.

WOOF Pet Rescue Society Inc. needs our help!

As you may know, there are a LOT of dogs and cats that get “dumped” for whatever reason (unable to afford the costs, didn’t get their animals spayed/neutered, tried to help but got overwhelmed, etc.). It doesn’t matter the reason, the animals need help now. We can discuss the human complication later. If you can, please donate to WOOF. There is a link in their original post for their PayPal account and if you want to send a check there is an address available.

Thank you in advance for helping WOOF and these poor innocent dogs and cats.
