4R Animal Mission Statement:

4R Animal Shelter is organized exclusively for charitable purposes to provide a safe haven for horses, and other equine and farm livestock that have become victims of neglect, abuse or abandonment, or whose owners are no longer able to care for them. The main goal is to rehabilitate, retrain and, when possible, to re-home these animals through a comprehensive adoption

process.

4R Animal Shelter will provide training, educational and therapy events for veterans, EMT's, Police Officers and Fire Fighters, support staff and families under an ongoing program using the shelter horses in support of an equine assisted psychotherapy setting.
4R Animal Shelter will offer public events to offer education on the process of rescuing animals.

Trimmed Moonshines hooves today. He was great as usual. Not what I like to do. But needed done.

Stalls cleaned, grain set up in stalls and horses are in. The black flies, in Maine they are quite a vicious thing and swarm around heads, ears and tender spots. So the horses are in for today. During the fly season I try to keep them in during the day and out at night. Hopefully the Dragon Flies will hatch soon, they love to eat black flies, so that really cuts down on them. Put tony out in a pasture for awhile, he was enthused about it until the flies got after his ears. Then it was, put me back in my stall!!
