📢 Heads Up, Lebanon Pet Parents! 📢

We're getting ready to celebrate Independence Day and wanted to let you know Lebanon Vet Clinic will be closed on Thursday, July 3rd, and Friday, July 4th. We'll be back to our regular hours on Monday, July 7th.

Does your furry friend get anxious around fireworks? 🎆 If they need medication to help them stay calm, please call us before July 1st to ensure we can get their prescription ready for pick-up!

We are proud to announce our new partnership with Pet Friendly Services of Indiana! This collaboration is a vital step in our shared commitment to addressing pet overpopulation and promoting responsible pet ownership in our community.

Pet Friendly Services of Indiana is a fantastic organization dedicated to making a real difference through initiatives like their low-cost spay/neuter programs. These critical programs are largely funded by the sale of the "Fix 'Em" license plate here in Indiana! By working together, we can help control pet overpopulation, reduce the number of homeless animals, and ultimately create a healthier and happier environment for all pets.

This veterinary practice is in our neighboring state of Illinois. Leptospirosis has also been in Indiana. The American Veterinary Medical Association has recently changed the lepto vaccine classification to a “core vaccine” due to its increased incidences of transmission to humans. Protect yourself, and protect your pets.
If your pet is up to date on their other vaccines, but you are interested in adding this vaccine, please call the clinic. You would not need to pay an office call fee to start this two part series! One of our wonderful technicians would be happy to help!

‼️Why We Strongly Recommend the Leptospirosis Vaccine‼️

Leptospirosis is a serious and potentially life-threatening disease that affects both animals and humans—making it what’s known as a zoonotic disease. It’s caused by bacteria found in the urine of infected animals and can be spread through contaminated water, soil, or direct contact with infected pets. Even dogs that live primarily indoors are at risk, especially after heavy rain or flooding.

Vaccination is one of the most effective ways to protect your dog—and your entire household—from this dangerous illness.

Recently, this hit close to home. Our own veterinarian, Dr. Jason Kennell, likely contracted leptospirosis from a contagious patient. He was hospitalized for five days, after battling symptoms for nearly a week. This has been a sobering reminder of just how real and serious this disease can be—not only for your pets but for the people who care for them.

We can’t stress enough how important it is to vaccinate. It’s a simple step that can prevent significant suffering for both pets and people.

Finally, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our wonderful clients who have been so patient and understanding while we adjusted schedules. Being down Dr. Jason and allowing his wife, Dr. Kaci, time to be by his side meant some changes in our daily operations—and your support has meant the world to our team.

That's it--get your dog fixed for $25 (under 50 #) or $50 (51-100 #)

If you have a big ole dog (100+), we'll pay the cost of the spay up to 100 #, you'll need to pay the rest.
