Noah came in today for a TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) procedure on his knee.

Noah was a little nervous, so he got to snuggle with a life-sized twin stuffed animal to keep him calm as well as his spa mask to help him relax. Noah got to spend the day relaxing in our padded recovery stalls with his wonderful nurses waiting on him. He was very pleased with this visit today, all things considered.

Dr. Daniel Kelly has been doing these specialized TPLO procedures and fixing dogs knees since the spring of 1999. He was among a small group of veterinary surgeons who initially were taught how to perform the procedure from the surgeon who invented the procedure himself. Since then, Dr. Kelly has been able to help lots of dogs by fixing their knees and getting them back to day-to-day mischief.

Have a great weekend everyone and we wish Noah a speedy recovery!

Vet Tech Appreciation Week Day 5! Happy Friday!
Meet Stephanie, Chris, Addison, and Haley, thank you all!

Stephanie has been with the Stonecliff team for 5 years. You may know Stephanie as our groomer but she does much more than that. Stephanie is always jumping in to help out our team anyway that she can when she has downtime. Stephanie has a special way with animals and can calm even the most worried animals. We appreciate that Stephanie respects the boundaries of all pets and will never push them out of their comfort zone even if it means getting creative with her approach to make them feel more comfortable.

Chris has been with Stonecliff since we opened our Montpelier, VT office in 2023. Chris comes from a background in shelter and general veterinary practice and has a special love for all of our feline friends. Chris is also our surgical sterilization supervisor and is responsible for keeping up with the heavy surgical case load and training new staff. The past few months Chris has been out due to health issues after giving us all a scare but she will be returning next week and we are so excited to welcome her back!

Addison joined the Stonecliff team a few months back and has been a wonderful addition. Addison has a background with animal care especially horses which are a passion of hers. Addison is kind, caring and compassionate towards all creatures. Addison is a quick learner and is excited and eager to tackle any new task you throw at her. We are excited about her future.

Haley is our newest member of the Stonecliff family but has been such a pleasure to welcome. Haley joins our team with a background in a mixed animal practice working with animals small and large for the last 4 years. Haley bring her hard working attitude and passion for the veterinary field and all animals to our team. Haley plans to work towards becoming a licensed technician in the near future and we are very excited to help her along this path and see what the future holds for her!

Thank you all for what you do. I hope you have enjoyed getting to learn a bit more about the friendly faces you have seen around Stonecliff. The job of our veterinary technicians and assistants is not easy. Their roles include: patient care, cleaning, phlebotomy, laboratory technicians, caffeine lovers, radiology technicians, emergency and ICU care, bandage and wound care, anesthesia, surgical prep, surgical sterilization, animal and human lovers, cheerleads, educators, patients advocates, and so so so much more. They help clients and patients through some of the best and the hardest times and get up and continue to do so each and every day. THANK YOU!

Veterinary Technician Week Day 4! This morning we had a yummy breakfast spread to celebrate our team!

Meet Sadie, Rachel, Savannah, and Emily some of our incredible veterinary assistants who all help keep this place running smoothly.

Sadie has been with Stonecliff since we opened our Montpelier, VT office in 2023. Sadie continues to commute to Stonecliff in Lebanon, NH from Montpelier to continue to work with our incredible team and boy are we glad she does! Sadie recently did an externship at a zoo where she got to work on exotic animals which left all of us jealous! Sadie helps run the hospital behind the scenes in our surgical sterilization department as well as helping with outpatient visits and patient care.

Rachel joined the Stonecliff team while she was finishing high school and worked with us part time in 2024. Rachel also commutes to work on this amazing team. Rachel is a quick learner with a passion for the veterinary field and learning new things. Rachel has enrolled in vet tech school and is taking classes towards her degree. She just scored 100% on a test! Rachel is a ray of sunshine!

Savannah joined Stonecliff about a year ago and has learned so much during this time. She is a hard worker who is always quick to jump in and help out where needed. She started as a kennel assistant and has been working hard to learn all that she can so she can help out elsewhere in the hospital. She has a compassionate heart and loves all animals.

Emily joined Stonecliff when she was still in high school in 2023. Emily graduated early and went off to Tennessee where she is studying to be a veterinarian. We still get to see her when she comes to visit on school breaks and gets to reunite with the team. Emily has a passion for horses and hopes to pursue equine veterinary medicine in her future.

Thank you for all that you do for our team, patients, and clients!

Vet Tech Appreciation Week Day 3! Today we spoil the team with homemade baked desserts.

Meet Darlena, Abigail, Sydney, and Trinity! These photos demonstrate some of the important tasks that our vet techs and assistants do on a daily basis.

Darlena, has been with our team at Stonecliff going on 7 years and prior to that worked for Dr. Kelly when he owned SAVES and has about 20 years of experience in the field in shelter, emergency, general practice, and surgery/anesthesia. Darlena is our technician manager and a licensed technician. Darlena is our teams biggest cheerleader and mentor. She helps get everyone trained and help our team each grow their skills and careers to meet their goals. Darlena has a passion for bandaging, surgery, anesthesia, orthopedics and ICU/emergency medicine. Our clients and patients know her as a warm voice to easy their worry and guide them through the steps of their beloved pet's recovery.

Abigail, has been with the Stonecliff team for just over a year, although she has fit in so seamlessly it is like she has always been on our team. Prior to working at Stonecliff Abigail has about 8 years working in the veterinary field in an AAHA accredited small animal practice. Abigail will jump in to help anyone in the hospital where needed and always is happy to toss in a lighthearted joke to make you smile. Abigail is currently studying to take her VTNE exam to become a licensed technician.

Sydney, has been with the Stonecliff family for 2 years. Prior to joining our team Sydney has experience working in the veterinary field as well as hospitality and brings all of these skills to our team. Sydney has a passion for phlebotomy and she also has a special way with our anxious patients. Sydney hopes to continue her education with vet tech school in the near future. Sydney is guaranteed to make everyone laugh with her goofy sense of humor which is just what we need some days. She is also the first to comfort her team after a tough day.

Trinity, joined our team just over a year ago. Prior to Stonecliff Trinity worked in animal care in a farm setting and has a special passion for horses. Trinity has a kind and compassionate soul and treats everyone as if they were her best friend, human or animal alike. We are very proud of how much Trinity has expanded her knowledge and technical skills over the last year and are excited to see her start vet tech school in her future.

Thank you for all that you do!

Day 2 of Vet Tech Appreciation Week! Today we celebrate with a yummy lunch to thank our team. Today we introduce Raianna, Lizzy, Jensen, and Amanda who are a few of the hard working members of our veterinary technician and veterinary assistant team!

Raianna and Lizzy have been with Stonecliff for 5 years. Lizzy came to us from shelter medicine and Raianna from general practice. Their knowledge and compassion make them key leaders on our team. Both Raianna and Lizzy are currently pursing vet tech school to work towards their goal of becoming licensed and furthering their education to be the best the can be. Exotic pets are of special interest to both Raianna and Lizzy who went to Exotics-Con continuing education a few years back. Lizzy also loves working with teeth and dental health education.

Jensen has been with Stonecliff for 3 years and worked in hospitality prior to getting into the veterinary field. Jensen started on the client care side but quickly moved to becoming a knowledgeable veterinary assistant. Jensen is an incredibly hard worker and great team player always willing to lend a helping hand. Jensen's smile is sure to light up your day whether you are on her team or a patient or client that she is helping care for.

Amanda has been with our team for about a year. Prior to working at Stonecliff Amanda worked in general practice and holistic veterinary medicine since 2010 as well as human medicine and phlebotomy. Amanda's leadership skills and knowledge in phlebotomy, anesthesia and surgery are a huge asset to our team. Amanda is a calming presence on our team and with our worried patients and clients. We are grateful to have Amanda on our team and appreciate the long commute she makes to be with us.

We are so lucky to have the team we have! Thank you!
