Yesterday, our technicians and assistants took some time with Brian's Bandages for a bandaging refresher. Our team loved to get together for some hands-on training and learning some new tricks. Some of our lovely patients included our Halloween decorations, dog toys, some beloved childhood stuffies, and Casper, our CPR training dog.

This week we celebrate our incredible team of veterinary receptionists for Veterinary Receptionist Appreciation Week! We celebrated our client care team by ending the week with a surprise lunch outing for a much-needed break. ❤️

Our client care team are superheroes in scrubs. They are the first and last smiling face our clients see each visit. They multitask and juggle endless different tasks each day. They calmly assist and care for clients and their beloved pets through the happy and the sad times they may face at our hospital, no matter the circumstances. They are a compassionate ear to listen, sometimes a shoulder to cry on, a calm voice to ease stress or worry, a warm smile to laugh and share stories with, and so much more. We are so grateful for our client care team!

Please remember to take a moment to thank our lovely client care team for their compassionate care for our clients and patients. Always be patient and kind.

Happy 4 years, Chris! 🥳

Chris joined our team in Montpelier, VT, at our previous surgical center. After the flood forced us to close our Vermont office, Chris continued to travel over an hour to continue to work with our incredible team.

Our clients may not get to see Chris' smiling face often, but know that she is keeping this place running from behind the scenes. As our Surgical Sterilization Supervisor Chris runs our surgical instrument prep, cleaning, sterilization, organization and training to help keep up with our busy surgery case load. On top of this, Chris is cross-trained to help out our client care team, help with patient restraint, surgery recovery, and many other areas as needed.

Chris is a hard worker and a team player, and boy, are we lucky to have her on our team. You can always count on Chris giving your pets some extra love when they are here for surgery (especially the kitties which are her favorite!).

This month we celebrate 5 years of having Stephanie as a part of our Stonecliff team!

For those of you that do not know her, Stephanie is our groomer. Stephanie also helps out at the front desk from time to time when the team needs her or really anywhere she is needed in the hospital. Stephanie has been grooming for over 15 years, and we are so lucky to have her on our team.

Stephanie has a way of calming even the most nervous of patients to make their spa visits as low-stress as possible. Stephanie always puts her patient's well-being above all else. She will come up with creative approaches or split visits into more shorter visits if it is going to be more positive that way for her patients.

If you have not met Stephanie or are looking for grooming services for your pet in the area, stop by or give us a call to schedule a time with Stephanie.

Last month a group of 4 of our team members traveled to Orlando, Florida, to attend a week full of learning at the VMX veterinary conference. Some course topics were behavior, reducing the anxiety of our patients, anesthesia, dental care, customer service, leadership, and many more! We are so excited to hear about all that they learned and brought back to the clinic!

We are always pushing our whole team to continue to grow their skills and knowledge. We require continuing education for all team members every month to be sure they are keeping sharp and always learning something new!

This month we celebrate 3 years with Dr. Kelly Smith!

Dr. Kelly Smith attended Penn State for her undergraduate degree and Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine for her doctoral degree.

Dr. Kelly Smith has been a resident of the Upper Valley since 2021. She spends her time outside of work with her husband, two children, and Dolly—a goofy Great Pyrenees mix-breed dog. They are all enjoying hiking, skiing, and biking in New England’s beautiful mountains.

Around the office, Dr. Kelly Smith is known for her calming presence and easygoing approach to whatever the day throws at her. Our Stonecliff family of clients, pets, and our team are lucky to have her!

Our Stonecliff team has big news this week in honor of Pet Dental Health Month!

After the tragic flooding in Montpelier, VT, on July 10th, 2023, which devastated the town and destroyed our surgical center, we have combined our surgical center, dental services, and general practices all under one roof. Although we have been managing with the space we have, it has been a bit cramped with Dr. Dan Kelly's large surgical case load moving in to our already busy practice. We have been working to come up with a solution that gives all of our incredible doctors room to care for all of our patients.

This week, Dr. Eastman moved her dental surgery and cleaning skills just down the road into a brand new space at 195 Mechanic Street. Do not worry! Dr. Eastman will be working out of both locations, so you will still get to see her face even if your pet does not need dental care.

Our new space that will be open Wednesdays and Thursdays for dental procedures for now. If you have an upcoming procedure our team will reach out to let you know personally as well!

We will keep you updated as time goes on with more exciting announcements.
